Cracker Trail Elementary Newsletter
March 2024

From the Principal
March 2024
Dear Parents & Guardians,
Spring is approaching and learning is in full swing here at Cracker Trail Elementary. As you may know, this is a time of year that students make the most academic and social learning gains. We appreciate your support as you make school a priority. There are many changes on the horizon including daylight savings, Spring Break, and the Florida heat is ramping up! It can be challenging to keep learning as a focus. What can you do to make school a top priority for your child? Keep these ideas in mind:
- Make attendance your number one priority. Let your child know that unless they are sick, they must attend school (and be on time.) Make an effort to schedule appointments after school hours.
- Show you care. Talk about school activities and projects. Make an effort to attend as many school events as you can.
- Remain positive. Try to set a positive example for your child, even when your own day has been challenging. If you show a positive attitude about your work, your child may feel better about their own.
We are looking forward to CTE's Science Fair/Art Night on March 28! Based on the hard work I see our CTE 5th grade students putting into their science projects and boards I know the night will be amazing!! While we can not spotlight all the artwork our students have worked on this school year, come see some of our students’ work on display in Mrs. Sebring’s A-Maze-ing Art Walk.
We also have parent conferences at the end of the month. Teachers will be in touch to set up times to meet with you about your child’s academic progress.
Sincerely,
Mr. K.

New School App
From work, to home, to school, our phones are a key tool to navigate and communicate throughout
the day. The custom-built School Board of Highlands County app makes it easy to stay up to date
with district news and events.
Now, School Board of Highlands County is making it easier to stay in touch with teachers and class
information from that same app. Using the School Board of Highlands County app you can easily
switch from district and school information to Rooms, where you can see your student's classes
and engage directly with teachers. Rooms can be accessed via the web and from our district app,
which is available for free and can be used from both Apple and Android phones. To access
Rooms, you will need to create a login and password.
- One app for everything School Board of Highlands County
- Easily see class specific announcements
- Message teachers directly
Download the app, and look for your personalized invitation to begin using the "Rooms" feature in our app in early November.
