Community Update from Principal Griffin
It has been another great week for our students and staff at Erie High School. Thank you for your continued partnership in support of your child(ren) and our school. Based on the incredible success and achievement of our students, we have a lot to celebrate within our community.
Last weekend, the Erie High School Robotics program had a great showing at the 2024 Vex Robotics state championships at Kent Denver High School. EHS Team 3743C qualified for the 2024 World Championships, which will be held in Dallas next month. Congratulations, Andersen Harnish, Blake Hopkins, Tobey Jaeger, and Alex Shores. Additionally, EHS Team 3743A, composed of Justin Dingler, Jeremiah Havran, Sean-Patrick Schmitz, Trajan Schmitz, and Mason Waldau, will compete next week in the US Open Championships in Iowa. Best of luck to these hard working and dedicated students!
This week, I enjoyed the opportunity to attend the Erie High School Theatre Department production of Catch Me If You Can. What an incredible show! I am proud of our student actors, musicians, dancers, and technical crew for their hard work and strong dedication to this successful show, and I appreciate our Theatre Director Mr. Wright and his fellow staff members for their commitment to teaching and coaching our students throughout the course of preparing this production. I love that the Erie High School musical production allows so many students with different interests and talents to come together to produce an incredible show.
Next week, our students will enjoy more opportunities to shine in the visual and performing arts. On Tuesday, March 12th, the Erie High School National Art Honor Society is hosting its 2nd annual Art Fair at 3:00 pm in the Erie High School Commons. Our Erie High School Choir will have the spring concert on Wednesday, March 13th at 7:00 pm in the EHS Auditorium, and our Erie High School Symphonic & Jazz Bands will perform at 7:00 pm on March 14th. There are many opportunities to see our EHS artists shine next week!
I am looking forward to another great week at Erie High School, followed by the well-earned Spring Break for our students and staff. Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Josh Griffin
