District Update - April 26

Superintendent's Message
As we approach the final month of the academic year, the excitement and energy on campus is palpable! The Midview community is unparalleled, and the dedication shown by our teachers, learners, and families to ensure the success of this year has been truly inspiring.
The conclusion of the academic year is always an enjoyable and memorable time for students, filled with events such as camps, dances, field days, field trips, and graduation. It’s important that our students keep up their hard work, maintain good attendance, and uphold positive behavior so they can enjoy these last weeks to the fullest!
May also carries special significance for Midview Local Schools and districts throughout the U.S., as Teacher Appreciation Week falls within its first full week (May 6-10)! While this week is dedicated to honoring and applauding ALL members of our Midview Local School District team, our deep appreciation for them extends throughout the entire year.
In my role as superintendent, I consider it a privilege to have had the opportunity to collaborate with a remarkable group of passionate, creative, intelligent, and effective teachers and support staff. Many are unaware of the dedication, effort, and enthusiasm they invest in our students. So, to our staff – a heartfelt thank you for the significant impact you make on the lives of our youth! I invite our community and families to join me in utilizing this week as an opportunity to offer extra recognition to one another and our incredible school staff!
Finally, I wish to again express my sincere gratitude and thanks to the Midview community for allowing me to guide this exceptional district. There is never a right time to begin a new chapter, but I do so with confidence in Midview’s bright future. I look forward to witnessing the continued success of the Midview students, staff, and community.
As always, thank you for your continued support of Midview Local Schools.
Take care,
Dr. Willingham

Class of 2024 Commencement
In last month's newsletter, it was highlighted that Ross Field and the track will undergo improvements during the summer. Our contractors informed us that work would need to begin sooner than expected to ensure Adelsberg Stadium is ready for the upcoming school year. Some of you may have already noticed the construction activity taking place!
Earlier this month, our seniors and their families were informed that Commencement will take place in Kubuski Gymnasium.
Although this scenario isn’t exactly as we had hoped for, we will ensure that the Class of 2024 has the graduation ceremony they deserve! Planning and preparations are well underway to guarantee a wonderful experience for both students and families.
Every senior will receive six (6) tickets for their loved ones to attend the ceremony. Additionally, those interested in showing support for our graduates can tune in to the live stream on the Midview Broadcast's YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@MHSBroadcast

Spring Printed Newsletter
We continue to value the significance of printed materials! To make sure we communicate with ALL members of our community, even those without children in the district, we send out a printed newsletter via the Rural-Urban every semester.
These newsletters contain essential announcements from our school leaders that the community should be aware of to stay informed about everything happening at Midview. If you do not currently receive the Rural-Urban but would like to access our spring edition, please click here.
School Fees
As we near the end of the 2023-24 school year, please remember to check if your child has any outstanding fees. Balances can be viewed by logging in to PowerSchool or PaySchools or calling your child's building main office.
Full or partial payments can be made through the main office during the school day or online through PaySchools (processing fees apply). Though unpaid fees carry over each year, action must be taken in order for your child to participate in end-of-year activities.
New & Returning Open Enrollment - Opening Soon
To be considered for Open Enrollment, an application must be filled out for each student each school year and submitted by the student’s legal guardian during the application window.
The district will begin accepting Open Enrollment Applications from May 1, 2024, through May 31, 2024.
Filling out an application does not guarantee that a student will be accepted into the district. Class sizes and staffing levels are determined based on the number of Midview residents the district must serve. Once these numbers are established, open-enrolled students are accepted as needed to meet grade-level capacity limits.
Preference is given to returning open-enrolled students first. Further details and instructions can be found on our district’s enrollment webpage.
