Dates to Remember
Welcome Back
Welcome back to Term 2!
Once again there are some fantastic learning opportunities planned for all of our students this term. It was great to see everyone back on Monday with smiles on their faces and a positive attitude. Long may it continue!
Colour Explosion - P&F Major Fundraiser
The Colour Explosion next Friday promises to be a very exciting day. We need everyone to register and help the P&F who are fundraising for classroom furniture, shade sails and educational line marking. All of these items will be welcome additions to our school.
Our P&F have worked extremely hard to get this event up and running and I can’t thank them enough for the work they have done. For those of you who haven’t registered yet the QR Code is located in the P&F section of the newsletter.
Clothing for the Colour Explosion
Students should wear a plain white shirt that can get colourful. We recommend bringing a change of clothes, a hat, towel and a water bottle. Sunglasses will be supplied. If you prefer your child not to be sprayed with colour powder, please inform your teacher.
ANZAC Mass
Next Tuesday at 9am in the church Mrs Anderson has prepared a whole school ANZAC Mass. This Mass will be a very reverent way to reflect on and pray for all those service personnel who have fought and died in military operations for our country. Each of our classes will be involved in the Mass. Everyone in our community is welcome to attend.
Students Arriving to School Early
Please be aware that there are no staff on duty before 8.30am and students arriving before this time are required to sit with parents or in the undercover area. Students should not be playing or running around with friends. Parents will be notified of any students who do not comply with these rules. OSH is available for those parents who need to get to work early!
EDUDANCE
Edu-Dance lessons started for our students yesterday. I am pleased to say that Miss Winter is again teaching the program this term. Our students really love Edu-dance and that was very evident during their first lesson. It’s great to see the students so eager, happy and engaged!
Winter Uniform
Term 2 means a change to winter uniforms.
To give parents more time to purchase any winter items needed from the Uniform Shop, students can wear either summer or winter uniform to school for the first two weeks of Term 2. By Week 3, all students are expected to be in full winter uniform.
The Uniform Shop will be open on Wednesday 24th April from 1.30pm to 3.30pm and every Wednesday during term time.
Best Wishes

MUSIC NEWS
THE CATHOLIC PERFORMING ARTS FESTIVAL 2024
The Catholic Performing Arts Festival will be taking place in Term 3 and applications are ready to be received. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to showcase their talents and enjoy the variety of performances shared by other schools. We would like Queen of Apostles to be well presented in the wider Catholic community and are encouraging our competent musicians to enter.
YEARS 4 – 6
If your child learns an instrument outside of our School Instrumental Program and is competent in playing, I would like to invite them to enter The Catholic Performing Arts Festival. A short audition will be required. Please ensure that the piece of music that they wish to perform is with them for the audition. Auditions will be conducted for those students interested on Monday 22nd April at 8.30am in the Music Room. Forms will be sent home with students who audition to standard and must be returned to me by MONDAY 29th APRIL with a copy of the music that they wish to play attached to the form. A fee to enter is required. This will be sent out once we have lodged all entries and the program is formatted. It will be the parent’s responsibility to transport their child to and from the festival on the day.
Entries for students currently participating in our Instrumental Program will be organised by your child’s tutor. Tutors will be in contact with you if they feel your child is ready to enter.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to come and see me.
Regards
Sheryl Perry

Every student who participates is celebrated and recognised with a printed certificate in each subject area, and an online results report to track development each year. Top performers are eligible for one of the highly coveted ICAS medals.
