Spring break childcare available
Both Right at School and Y-Kids are offering childcare during spring break.
Right At School is also providing childcare for the non-student days this month - and it is open to ALL families in the District (not just those who are currently enrolled in their program).

Bremerton School Board Meeting Highlights

BOARD RECOGNITION
March 11-15 is School Support Professionals Week (formerly known as Classified Staff Week). This tradition started in 1975 to recognize the contributions of Education Support Professionals in the public school system and acknowledge the difference they make in our schools!
President Rotter read the names of all of our classified employees with 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 years of service and those in attendance we asked to stand. A Resolution was also approved to Proclaim March 11-15 School Support Professionals Week!
POLICY NEWS:
One Policy was presented to the board:
- Policy 3207- Prohibition of Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying. This policy was presented for a 2nd reading and was adopted.
Elise Erickson shared information on the Bremerton High School Excursion to France in April of 2025. This will be her fifth time taking students to France! The trip was approved by the board.
Other Business:
The board approved an update to Highly Capable Procedure 2190P

Kitsap County Bar Association Law Day Essay Contest
Each year, the Kitsap County Bar Association sponsors a Law Day Essay Contest for Kitsap County students. The 2024 Law Day theme is “Voices of Democracy.” All high school (grades 10-12) and middle school (grades 9 and below) students residing or attending school in Kitsap County are eligible to participate.
There will be a total of six prizes awarded, three in each age category. The prizes will be awarded at the Law Day Celebration on the morning of May 10, 2024 at the Kitsap County Administration Building in Port Orchard, starting at 8:30 a.m.

Grants for Washington State K-12 Public School Teachers!
Applications are now being accepted for the “Ellison Education Grants”. Grants are for K-12 public school teachers in Washington State. Over the past six years, the Ellison foundation has awarded 101 grants and $501,000 to Washington State teachers.
Grants will range from $1,000 to $10,000 and be awarded this spring to be used during the 2024 – 2025 school year. Applications must be submitted by March 30, 2024.
