The Llewellyn Friday Flyer
April 4, 2024
Dear Families,
Welcome back everyone! I hope everyone had an enjoyable spring break. It has been fun to hear students share their adventures from their week away from school. I was especially thankful for the GORGEOUS weather at the end of the week.
I want to bring your attention again Drop Off and Pick Up and the safety issues on 14th Avenue. As I shared previously, a short time ago I met with members of PBOT, Safe Routes to School, SMILE, and concerned parents to discuss the heavy and sometimes unsafe traffic in the area in front of the school building. With a priority of keeping everyone safe, the team analyzed current practices and came up with some possible solutions to improve safety and help the flow of traffic. Please read the attached documents and follow these directions. A map is included to help illustrate the new routes suggested.
By AVOIDING the RED ZONE, we can all be safer!
Note: If you are interested in helping to support these new routes by volunteering in the morning or afternoon or if you have access to signage, please let me know. It would greatly help to have people directing traffic as we all get used to these new routes.
Don't forget! Friday, April 5th there will be NO SCHOOL for students, but the school office will be open from 9:00-1:00pm. Teachers will be preparing Q-3 Report Cards and planning for the last quarter. Report Cards will be sent home on Friday, April 12th!
Have a great weekend!
Principal Pam

News from the PTA
PTA Happenings
There are still plenty of volunteer opportunities to spruce our school garden! There are several ways to help. There are several super critical construction projects like replacing the shed roof so there is no leaking inside and so our Mason bee houses are protected from the rain, installing the picket fence, and removing the old bed frames. We also need some classroom garden liaisons to connect with teachers to use the garden in classroom projects and general garden upkeep.
Our next PTA meeting will be April 16 at 7 p.m. and is a social hour for our community members to come and get to know each other and express any new ideas or concerns about how our PTA can best serve our school. We will announce the location soon.
Our Earth Day event will be on April 20 and we still need volunteers to be leads for the garden work party and Earth day themed crafts, games, and activities. Please check Konstella for the sign up to give our garden some spring love and help with this fun event!
