Hello CIS Families! Let's hope all of those April showers will produce May flowers and bring us some warmer weather. May is just around the corner and before we know it, June will be here. The month of May will bring the end of M-Step testing, field trips, grade transition activities, CIS Fun Run and much more! If you have not had a chance to download the Clio Area Schools App, please take a minute to do so. This will help keep you connected with all of our communications. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please reach out to the CIS office.

Reminder: Clio Area Schools will have an Early Release Day on Tuesday, May 7.

We are currently in the process of making plans for grade level transitions for next year. I am working with the staff at Clio Elementary on a plan for current 3rd Grade students to meet 4th Grade teachers and other CIS staff. Unfortunately, due to construction projects, we won't' be able to visit the renovated CIS building until later in the summer.

We are also working with Clio Middle School on a plan for 5th Graders to visit CMS in May. More specifics are coming soon!

We could use your help to remind students of appropriate bus expectations. We have seen a rise in student misbehavior on the bus recently and could use your help to have conservations with your child about what is expected when using district provided transportation. As you can see by the graph below, there have been a significant amount of bus referrals this year. Again, please take some time to help us reinforce our bus expectations. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mr. Trebilcock at CIS.

Our school Counselor, Mrs. Adamczyk, and our At-Risk Liaison, Mrs. Hopkins, created and facilitated a presentation about bullying for all of our students. The presentations were done with each homeroom to create a smaller, more comfortable environment for more candid conversations. Skateland was kind enough to provide pizza for the winning homerooms for March is Reading Month. Mrs. McCombs and Kooky the Bird visited CIS to deliver pizza to Mrs. Frazier's and Mrs. Turnage's room. Thanks to Skateland!
