Attendance Update - From the Deans (Mr. Adamek and Mrs. Sproul)
Attendance plays a crucial role in the educational experience at Randall, as it directly correlates with students' academic performance and engagement in the learning process. For the month of February, Randall recorded an attendance rate of 93.9% of the students present at school. This level of attendance demonstrates a strong commitment from both students and their families toward education. Maintaining and improving this percentage is a priority for the school administration, as high attendance rates often leads to better understanding of the material and increased chances of academic success. Randall continues to encourage and support its students in making school attendance a top priority, as it is a fundamental building block for future success.
Parent Partnership Evening #2 - March 19th
Based on feedback from our families, we are happy to offer the second in a series of Parent Partnership Evenings on Tuesday, March 19 from 6:00 - 7:00PM. It is our goal to help strengthen the partnership between Randall and our families so we can best support our students/your children. Mr. Rivard, Mr. Adamek, and Mrs. Sproul will facilitate discussions and share strategies about student behavior procedures to help support our families. Those interested in attending should complete this Sign Up Form. We look forward to working with you!

The Importance of Sleep!
Sleep is such an important part of a healthy routine! Sleep affects our growth and stress hormones, our immune system, appetite, breathing, brain function, blood pressure and cardiovascular health. Making sure our kids get enough sleep is so important for them to be successful at school. Below are tips for creating a consistent and effective sleep routine:
Have a consistent sleep schedule: Go to bed at the same time each night
Limit the use of electronics in the evening: watching TV, looking at your phone or the computer, playing video games especially before bedtime can affect how long it takes to fall asleep and the quality of the sleep you get . Electronics/screens emit blue light which can reduce the body's natural production of melatonin, a hormone that makes you feel sleepy. Blue light can also affect the quality of your sleep, leaving you feeling more tired the following morning.
Make a comfortable sleep environment for a good night’s sleep!
Avoid caffeinated beverages before bed: soda’s, teas, coffee, energy drinks all have caffeine and can keep you awake at night. There is not enough research to prove that any amount of caffeine is safe for consumption in children, especially under 11 years of age. Children 12-17 years of age should consume less than 100mg of caffeine if it can not be avoided.
Eating Healthy and Exercising daily can help with getting a good night’s sleep as well!

Celebrate and Recognize Randall Staff Members!
Is there a staff member that does an amazing job for your student(s) OR someone that you believe goes above and beyond and deserves to be told that?!?
Randall is asking our parents and caregivers to share who and why they would like to recognize. Between now and spring break we will be selecting one staff member to be recognized publicly from your input each week, but we need your help!
All staff members that are recognized will receive the WHY. Thank you for taking the time to share! Randall's staff appreciates hearing from our community!
