🧁 From the Principal 🍭
Hello Mohawk Families,
As we approach the final stretch of the school year, it's hard to believe that summer vacation is just around the corner. While the allure of lazy days and outdoor adventures beckons, there's still plenty of learning to be done, and we want to finish strong!
We encourage you to maintain open communication with your child's teacher through newsletters, agendas, emails, and any other means available. By staying engaged and showing responsibility, your child not only benefits this year but sets a positive foundation for the next.
Reflecting on the year, we are filled with gratitude for the many wonderful memories and experiences shared at Mohawk Elementary. A special thank you goes out to our dedicated PTO for their hard work in organizing events throughout the school year. Getting involved with the PTO and participating in their activities can truly enhance the elementary school experience for all involved.
As summer approaches, we hope you'll continue to create lasting memories with your family. While enjoying the break, we encourage you to keep the learning momentum going by reading books, practicing writing, and reviewing math facts. Consistent engagement in educational activities over the summer can make a significant difference in preparing your child for the next grade level. I will be sharing a summer learning newsletter in a few weeks to help prevent the summer slide!
Lastly, we extend heartfelt congratulations to our fifth-grade students as they embark on the next chapter of their educational journey. Your hard work and dedication have not gone unnoticed, and we wish you all the best as you transition to middle school.
Here's to a fantastic end to the school year and a summer filled with joy, learning, and adventure!
Educationally Yours,
Ms. Andrea Verellen
Principal

Family Survey
Mohawk is continuously looking for ways to improve in all academic areas with a focus on reading and math. We also work collaboratively to ensure we are meeting the social-emotional needs of our students. By reviewing assessment and survey data, we are able to make sound decisions in the programs we offer.
We need your input about the things we are doing well and would like you to share opportunities for us to grow. Please help us by completing the CVS 2023-2024 Family Engagement Survey below.
The survey closes Friday, May 10th.
