3rd - 5th STAAR is right around the corner and we are all working together to ensure your children are ready. You can help us by reminding your child to take their time and do their very best. It is also important that your children go to bed early so that they are rested before testing days. Thank you families for supporting our teachers and students!

Being in school on time and being ready to learn is always important. It is even more important during our upcoming STAAR assessments. Please make sure your student gets plenty of sleep and is here on time. It makes a big difference in your child’s day and will help your child perform well on the day of the test. Students who have Perfect Attendance this quarter, with only ONE absence, will be able to participate in our Foam Party at the end of the quarter! Thank you for ensuring your child comes to school on time every day!

Monday, April 8th
On Monday, April 8, a total eclipse event will occur in the Northwest side of San Antonio. Central San Antonio, where most of our schools reside, will receive 99.9% totality. The partial eclipse will begin at 12:14 p.m., with peak totality at 1:34 p.m., and end around 2:55 p.m. In preparation for this event, the SAISD Science department has provided certified solar eclipse glasses for safe viewing for all students and staff. Faculty and staff will monitor students to ensure glasses are worn at all times when viewing the eclipse.
Due to the age and safety of our little ones, Prek, Kinder, and ECSE will be able to view the eclipse Livestreamed in their classrooms. 1st - 5th grade students will view the eclipse from our courtyard. If you do not want your child to participate, please return the "Opt Out" form that was sent home last week. We are looking forward to this amazing event! El lunes 8 de abril se producirá un eclipse total en el lado noroeste de San Antonio. El centro de San Antonio, donde residen la mayoría de nuestras escuelas, recibirá el 99,9% del total. El eclipse parcial comenzará a las 12:14 horas, con un pico de totalidad a las 13:34 horas, y finalizará alrededor de las 14:55 horas. En preparación para este evento, el departamento de Ciencias de SAISD ha proporcionado gafas certificadas para eclipses solares para que todos los estudiantes y el personal puedan verlos de forma segura. Los profesores y el personal supervisarán a los estudiantes para garantizar que usen anteojos en todo momento al ver el eclipse. Debido a la edad y seguridad de nuestros pequeños, Prek, Kinder y ECSE podrán ver el eclipse transmitido en vivo en sus salones de clases. Los estudiantes de 1º a 5º grado verán el eclipse desde nuestro patio.
