Our very own baritone saxophone player Rafael Mekonnen recently performed at Carnegie Hall in New York with the High School Honors Performance Series! The program features high-performing student musicians from all around the nation who auditioned virtually for a chance to be in the band. Students get to explore the Big Apple, visit a Broadway show, see Times Square, rehearse together, and put on an amazing concert at Carnegie Hall at the end of their trip. We are so proud of you for this accomplishment, Raffi! 💙🎷

"WHY ARE WE DOING SO MUCH FUNDRAISING? I AM TIRED OF SELLING THINGS AND WORKING FUNDRAISING EVENTS!!!"
Did you know that 35% of our operating budget comes from fundraising? That is $350,000!! We raise money through sponsorships, spirit nights, fundraising events like the Golf Tournament and Garage Sale, and through sales (poinsettias, mattresses, butter braids, and cookie dough, etc.). These fundraising activities help to offset operating costs of our elite band program. If we remove fundraising income, band fees would increase by $1,000 per student.
We have made very good progress with fundraising this year. Our spring goal is $100,000 because we need to meet our operating budget AND start saving money for much needed trailer updates and repairs. Getting our equipment and props to our contests is a MUST!!!
Thank you for your continued support and effort.
Families, it is important to pay outstanding fees. This impacts the budget.
