This week...
I think the highlight of my week was taking St Patrick's Class to our weekly class Mass in Church and then watching the Year 3 children making their First Reconciliation. It was a precious moment and I felt so privileged to have been a part of this. Our children were fantastic representatives of St Joseph's and it was wonderful to see their reverence and respect on this special day.
Please keep the Year 3 children in your prayers.
Thank you, as always, for supporting us to
Live, love and learn with the Lord.

First Reconciliation
We are so proud of our Year 3 children, who made their first reconciliation this week, with Father Sean, in Church. It is an important sacrament and helps develop the children's relationship with God.
Tadcaster Litter Pick
Plant pots!
We have a request... St Francis Class need some large plant pots/troughs for our garden if anyone has any that they don't need! We have lots of little pots but need some bigger ones for our vegetable garden. Any donations would be gratefully received!
Healthy Eating Workshops
As part of our PSHCE and Science learning, we organised for Catholic Care to visit school and lead healthy eating workshops in classes this week. The children learned about different food types, portion sizes, how to eat a balanced diet and about nutritional traffic lights!
Thank you to Ingrid - our children were fascinated - and hopefully, this will lead to us all eating more healthily!
Attendance Update
Whole School Attendance this week: 95.6%
Well done for another week of improved attendance. Thank you for your support.
We still have some way to go, to ensure the best for our children! Please have a look at the picture attached, to see how much difference it makes to be on time for school each day.
We have been learning...
St Nicholas (Nursery)
St Francis (Preschool/Reception)
Children in St Francis had an amazing time at the Fire Station on Tuesday. We found out about the jobs that they do, had a tour of a fire engine, went inside the fire engine, sprayed the hose pipe and heard the sirens.
Have a wander over to our Twitter/Facebook pages to see more photos!
St Bernadette (Y1/Y2)
This week, we celebrated the feast day of our class saint - St Bernadette! We spent the afternoon snacking on biscuits, listening to the story, making rosary bracelets and creating a class poster.
St Patrick (Y3/Y4)
This week, St. Patrick's Class enjoyed a workshop led by a nutritional advisor from Catholic Care. The session explored lots of practical ways to eat healthily! We learnt about portion sizes, the importance of drinking lots of water and food traffic lights.

Friends of St Joseph's
We are excited to try a slightly healthier (but still fun!) treat Friday next week, and are very grateful for the fresh fruit that a local supermarket has donated to us. There will still be the usual pop corn on offer too so remember to bring those 50p's!
