Dear Palmer River Elementary School Community,

After extensive consultations with various stakeholders, including staff, school council members, and parents/guardians, we have reached a decision to implement a "one snack per child per day" rule effective March 4th. This decision has been made in the best interest of our students. It has come to our attention that numerous students are experiencing time constraints for lunch consumption due to prolonged periods spent in the snack line. Additionally, some students have been opting to eat multiple snacks instead of their designated lunches. Moreover, certain students are purchasing multiple snacks to share with friends, creating potential safety concerns for those with food intolerances, sensitivities, and allergies.

By introducing this new rule, we aim to address these issues and ensure that students have ample time to enjoy both a snack and their lunches. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in implementing this measure, which prioritizes the overall well-being and safety of our students. Thank you in advance for your support.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Kristine Kefor, Principal & Dr. Cheryl Leandro, Assistant Principal
