Dear Members of our School Community,

As we embark on this exciting task of selecting a new Superintendent to lead our District, on behalf of the Board of Education, I am pleased to introduce Lynne Rutnik, Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES District Superintendent and lead Search Consultant. Superintendent Rutnik was appointed as our Superintendent Search Consultant at our March 20, 2024 meeting.

Through the search, our goal is to ensure a transparent, inclusive, and thorough search process that reflects the diverse needs of our District. We will continue to post updates on the process as it proceeds.

Message from our Search Consultant

Dear Honeoye Central School District Community,

My name is Lynne Rutnik, and along with serving as the Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES District Superintendent, I also have the honor of leading the Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES search consultant team supporting your search for the next superintendent of Honeoye Central School District. The search consultant team includes representatives from Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES with multiple skill sets in leadership development, human resources, communications, and data analysis. The search consultant team will work collaboratively with your Board of Education, guiding them as they navigate the search process and appoint the next Superintendent of Schools for the Honeoye Central School District.

Through this update, I am writing to introduce myself and provide an overview of the process we will undertake together in this important endeavor. The search will be rooted in collaboration and inclusivity. The Board of Education and I are committed to hearing from all stakeholders – including students, parents, teachers, staff, administrators, and community members – to ensure that diverse perspectives and voices are considered throughout the process.

The search process will be comprehensive, structured, and transparent. It will involve multiple phases, including:

• Information Gathering: Collecting input from stakeholders to understand the desired qualities, skills, and priorities for the new superintendent through a superintendent search survey and a day in the district.

• Recruitment: Attracting a broad pool of highly qualified candidates through targeted outreach and advertising.

• Screening and Selection: Carefully reviewing applications and conducting interviews with the lens of the candidate profile developed through the feedback provided by stakeholders.

Your participation and feedback during this process are invaluable to ensure the best leader and fit for the school community is appointed. We will be sharing regular updates and seeking input to ensure that the search aligns with the needs of your district. I encourage you to stay engaged and provide your insights as we embark on this journey together. Your perspectives will help shape the future leadership of your school.
