Community Update from Principal Griffin
Dear Erie High School families,
I hope that you and your family enjoyed an outstanding Spring Break and that this first week back from break has gone well. It has been a great week for our students and staff at Erie High School as we continue to see our students thrive in their academic, athletic, artistic, and co-curricular opportunities.
As we look ahead, just under two weeks from now on Wednesday April 10th and 11th, we have our annual SAT Day for juniors and PSAT Day for freshmen and sophomores. These assessment days provide our juniors an excellent opportunity to complete the SAT, which is an important element of the postsecondary planning and college admissions process. For students completing the PSAT, it is an important opportunity for them to build their experience with the SAT testing. Additionally, these tests serve a crucial function in our state’s educational system, as these are annual statewide testing days where the academic achievement of students in grades 9, 10, and 11 are measured. Erie High School prides itself on our continued achievement growth and are excited to see how our Classes of 2025, 2026, and 2027 demonstrate their learning through this important assessment.
I am grateful for your partnership in encouraging your child to participate in these tests and to put their best effort forward on the testing day. Students that have a good night’s sleep, a healthy breakfast, and maintain hydration are likely to perform better. Please ensure that your student is familiar with the expectations for their respective testing days so that they may arrive on time, prepared, and focused for an outstanding test performance.
On Wednesday, April 10th when our Juniors take the SAT, students in 9th, 10th, and 12th grade will have an asynchronous day of learning. On Thursday, April 11th when our Freshmen and Sophomores take the PSAT9 and PSAT10, students in 11th and 12th grade will have an asynchronous day of learning.
On Wednesday, March 27th, we hosted our Senior Parent Meeting to review many important details about the end of year for our outstanding Class of 2024, including key information about Graduation on May 25th. We distributed this information to all senior families via email on Thursday, March 28th. It is crucial for all seniors and their families to review and understand our guidance and expectations regarding the end of the school year and Graduation, including the important dates that lead up to this celebratory event. If you have any questions regarding Graduation, please call our Main Office at 303-828-4213.
I appreciate your strong partnership in support of the success of your child(ren). I hope that you and your family have a great upcoming weekend.
Sincerely,
Josh Griffin

🌟 Senior Spotlight 🌟
Kaeleigh Killian (12th)
Joshua Barrios (12th)
Joshua is looking forward to graduation. He works 4 jobs and love working with his hands as most jobs are acquired skills including construction and remodeling. When Joshua's not working, you'll find him playing football, soccer and baseball or cherishing time outdoors. Now, he is diving into an electrician apprenticeship while studying electrical engineering at Front Community College. He would love to go back to El Salvador and build homes for communities there. He has a wonderful future ahead!
