Coming in for Lunch with Students
We love having special guests come for lunch and bring food/eat with their children, grandchildren etc. However, we need your help in enforcing some of our rules to maintain order. Please remind your children that normal lunchroom expectations should be followed and that they can only choose TWO friends to eat with them at your table. Any more, and it gets too busy in the commons area. Cleaning up after lunch is also important. Thank you in advance!
Read Across America Day
We were very fortunate to have high school students come to read with our students this morning in celebration of Read Across America Day! Ask your child who they read with this morning. Thank you to Mrs. Charlton for organizing this event!
World Down Syndrome Day
Northfield Public Schools is proud to participate and promote World Down Syndrome Day! On Thursday, March 21st, students and family members are invited to join us by ‘rockin’ your wacky socks’ to celebrate individuals with Down syndrome, support inclusion and encourage acts of kindness. People with Down syndrome are born with a 3rd copy of the 21st chromosome (3/21). This is the reason for celebrating World Down Syndrome Day on March 21st, with the idea that it will continue every day after! This video (attached) was created by Kristin Yahnke, a Northfield Mom and Community Member. There are MANY local celebrities represented in the video … even some past and present BW Bears! Please take 5 minutes to watch the video and join us next Thursday, March 21st for Rock your Socks Day! All students are invited to wear socks with fun patterns, mismatched socks or creative designs!

Northfield All School Art Show at the Northfield Arts Guild
The Northfield Arts Guild All School Art Show with the theme “Elevate: Raising Kids in the Arts” is back this year! Congratulations to our 90 Bridgewater artists who had their work selected this year for the NAG art show. They will be bringing home yellow letters with postcards attached this week if their work was selected for the show. We would love to include all of our wonderful artists from Bridgewater, but we have to share the gallery space with the other schools in Northfield and our wall space is limited. The artwork will be displayed Tuesday 2/13/24 through Saturday 3/9/24 at the Northfield Arts Guild on Division Street in downtown Northfield. The address is 304 Division Street, Northfield, MN.
Congratulations to our BW artists and keep up the great work everyone!
