PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
I hope everyone had a wonderful and restful Spring Break. Sure we had some of the biggest storms of the year, but overall it has been a welcome two weeks of rest, friends, and family.
As we return to school for the final stretch of the year, we will begin to intensify our focus on preparing for the CAASPP assessments. These assessments are no more important now than they were back in September but now is the time where students have the chance to make their final preparations for doing their best.
Please enjoy this edition of the Dust Devil Weekly.

Focus on: Spring Fever!
It goes by a few names in education circles. Some call it March Madness. Others call it “senioritis (although it impacts more than seniors).” Spring Fever is the annual phenomenon where students begin to lose their motivation for academic work, and that lack of motivation translates to an increase in poor decisions and lowered grades. We want to ensure that as we return from Spring Break we all maintain our focus. Spring testing is on the horizon, and it is important that we all put our best foot forward, and get ready to Attack the SBAC! There is no doubt that the next weeks at JMMS are going to be as intense as any weeks so far this year. We should feel rested and ready. Let’s all avoid Spring Fever together!

AUSD LCAP GOALS
The Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) is a vital educational tool designed to engage parents and guardians in shaping the priorities, goals, and resource allocation within Alpine Union School District. Developed annually, the LCAP reflects the District's commitment to student success and equity. By fostering collaboration between educators, administrators, and families, the LCAP aims to enhance educational outcomes, promote transparency, and ensure that all students have access to a high-quality education that prepares them for future success. AUSD has developed three LCAP goals as described below:
Goal #1: Effective Instruction and Curriculum - Provide equitable access to high-quality classroom curriculum and instruction in an inclusive environment that promotes student success.
Goal #2: Safe and Respectful Environments - Ensure all school sites are safe and have healthy and welcoming climates for staff, students, and their families so that all students feel connected and are motivated to attend and ready to learn.
