Jonathan Alder Junior High
March 22, 2024
Message from the Principal
JAJHS Families,
I hope you and your family have had a great week!
Things have been busy around JAJHS. During Tuesday’s Professional Development Day, our teachers worked hard collaborating about instruction, reviewing data, and growing as professionals.
Our 8th grade students participated in the 2nd Annual Community Career Connections Event on Wednesday. In addition to traveling to Tolles for a tour and informational sessions, our students rotated through stations at the junior high to hear from a number of guest speakers. From welding engineers and bankers to warehouse logistics workers and forensic scientists, our students were exposed to a variety of fields. Each speaker took time to share their career pathway journey as well as discuss what a typical day looks like in their field. We are grateful for our community partners for helping support our kids as they prepare for their futures.
3rd Quarter printed report cards were sent home with students today, Friday, March 22. Please be sure to ask your child to see it.
Please take a few minutes to read through the information below about events and activities around JAJHS! I hope you and your family have a restful and memorable spring break!
Sincerely,
Mr. Malany
Principal

7th Grade Ohio State Testing Olympic Review
The 7th grade math teachers have planned our THIRD ANNUAL Ohio State Testing Olympic Review. We do not want the students stressed about testing, but we do want to spend a week reviewing for our assessment for math which takes place on April 30. We are planning an Olympic Games activity the weeks prior to the assessment to try and make our review fun and exciting! Students will earn points for their team based on effort, accuracy, and being a kind and helpful teammate. The first place team will have the opportunity to choose their prize first. The second place team will choose their prize next. ALL students will earn a prize for their efforts! If you are able to donate any of THESE PRIZES, we would be SO THANKFUL! The 7th grade teachers will fill in any gaps as well as provide the prize of Der Dutchman Donuts. Thank you for your consideration!
Thank You, Volunteers!
Mrs. Garner and the student council would like to thank the parent volunteers who attended our March dance as well as the parents who donated snacks and drinks. We could not have done it without you!

Medications at School
Sometimes parents ask that school personnel administer medication to their child during the school day. When this is necessary, we require written permission and instructions from the parent and in some instances from the doctor. The required form must be completed and turned in to the junior high office with the medication to be administered.
