NDHS Eagle News
Week of 3/17/24
Closing in on Spring Break!
We hope you're enjoying the warmer weather that is welcoming Spring! Here are a few reminders/updates before we start the week!
Extracurricular Eligibility Reminder
Just a gentle reminder that accumulating referrals and/or serving suspensions will disqualify students from attending prom and other end of the year events. We hope to see as many students qualify and attend as possible!
In addition, as per Board Policy, any student who does not have a 2.0 GPA and/or serves two or more suspensions is ineligible for extra curricular activities. Keep those grades up and make good choices!
MSDE Visit
NDHS will be welcoming members of the Maryland State Department later this week! We are excited to showcase the efforts of our students and staff and display the positive ongoings to the state! To learn more about the visit and the Expert Review Team, please visit https://blueprint.marylandpublicschools.org/expert-review-team/

NDHS Hosts Senior Band Festival
NDHS hosted the Eastern Shore Band Directors Association (ESBDA) Maryland District V Senior Band Festival today. We welcomed students, staff, and chaperones from 14 high school bands from across the shore as they performed adjudicated pieces for judges.
NDHS earned an overall rating of Excellent (2nd highest rating possible) with a Superior rating (highest rating possible) in Sight Reading (the ability to play a piece of music the first time)
Congrats to our student musicians and Band Director, Mr. Bunting!
NDHS Presentation to the Board of Education
This school year, each school has been requested to present an update to the Board of Education during one of the monthly meetings. On Thursday, March 21st, NDHS will be presenting updates regarding our School Improvement Plan, the Ron Clark Academy Initiative and other relevant information. Rotary Luncheon
The Rotary Club of Cambridge sponsored DCPS students attendance to the RYLA Conference in February. During the Rotary Club's 3/14/24 meeting, Andrew, Maddie, and Jules were invited and were given a chance to share their experience at the conference! NDHS represented AMAZINGLY!
Pictured below with Rotary Chairperson for RYLA, Mr. Reed, are students from NDHS & CSDHS, former RYLA participants, and staff representatives!
