AVA Family Update
March 15, 2024
Good morning AVA Students and Families,
I have next week's schedule, the guidance and community updates, and important dates below as usual.
I have two significant items for you this week.
1. Jameson Gasparri, an AHS Science teacher, will be filling in for Ms. Skerker starting Monday while she is on leave. All the links will stay the same for Science and Computer Science classes, If you need to discuss these classes, he can be reached at jgasparri@attleboroschools.com.
2. By the end of today, I will have emailed all families of students who I have concerns about in terms of academic progress. If you don't have an email from me with a warning or an invitation to a meeting, you can feel confident about your child's progress. That said, any family who wants to discuss anything can contact me any time.
Thank you for your time.

Guidance Updates
NCAA Registration
Once again, students and families who are interested in participating in collegiate sports through the NCAA, please register online at the Eligibility Center website (linked HERE) sooner than later. Although you may register even after high school graduation, we strongly recommend doing so while still enrolled in high school to ensure a smoother transfer of school records and information. AVA's CEEB code for NCAA registration is: 220067.

NROTC and Military Scholarships
The Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) is interested in hosting a talk with Attleboro District high school students. They award close to a million dollars in scholarships to high school seniors each year, including 5 full-ride scholarships to major universities last year alone. Opportunities for juniors also exist. Any AVA students or families interested in a virtual visit, please feel free to email Ms Nellie. More information can be found at the NROTC website HERE.
As always, please email me at nng@attleboroschools.com with any comments, suggestions, and concerns, or to make a virtual meeting appointment. Have a restful weekend!
