PES Monthly Memo
March 2024🍀🍀
PBIS Theme: Perserverance
At Pecatonica Elementary School, we are committed to providing a nurturing and empowering environment for our students, fostering not only academic growth but also the development of essential life skills.
For the month of March, we are thrilled to introduce and emphasize the theme of "Perseverance" as part of our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program. Perseverance is a quality that goes beyond the classroom, contributing significantly to personal and academic success.
Why Perseverance?
Perseverance is the ability to persist in the face of challenges, to bounce back from setbacks, and to continue striving towards one's goals despite obstacles. It is a fundamental quality that we believe can make a profound impact on our students' lives.
What Does Perseverance Look Like at PES?
Effort and Resilience: We encourage our students to put forth their best effort in everything they do, understanding that challenges are a natural part of the learning process. Resilience helps them bounce back from setbacks and grow stronger through experience.
Setting and Achieving Goals: Perseverance is closely tied to goal-setting. We teach our students to set realistic goals and to break them down into manageable steps. This process not only helps them achieve success but also instills a sense of accomplishment and self-confidence.
Learning from Mistakes: Perseverance involves learning from mistakes rather than being discouraged by them. We emphasize the importance of resilience and the ability to turn challenges into opportunities for growth.
How Can You Support Perseverance at Home?
We believe that a collaborative effort between school and home is essential for the overall development of our students. Here are some ways you can support the theme of perseverance:
- Encourage your child to share their challenges and successes with you.
- Reinforce the value of hard work and dedication in achieving goals.
- Help your child set realistic and achievable short-term and long-term goals.
- Praise their efforts and determination, regardless of the outcome.
Throughout the month, we will share stories, celebrate successes, and engage in activities that highlight the importance of perseverance.
Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership in creating a positive and enriching educational experience for our students.
