EDDY ELEMENTARY
ORLEANS ELEMENTARY
EASTHAM AND WELLFLEET ELEMENTARY
We're thrilled to embark on a curriculum expedition that will ignite curiosity, inspire discovery, and foster growth in our students! Here's a sneak peek into the exciting learning adventures ahead:
Our kindergarten students are on a thrilling journey through the animal kingdom! With boundless curiosity, they're delving into the lives of creatures big and small, both near and far. Through hands-on activities and engaging lessons, they're learning about the physical characteristics of animals and how they grow and change over time. From butterflies to elephants, every discovery sparks joy and wonder in our young learners.
In first grade, our students are discovering the importance of their roles within their communities. They're exploring the qualities of leadership and learning about the individuals who inspire positive change in our neighborhoods. Through interactive discussions and collaborative projects, they're gaining a deeper understanding of how leaders emerge and the impact they have on society.
Second grade is all about uncovering the hidden tales woven into the fabric of our world. With open hearts and curious minds, our students are exploring how people and places shape each other's stories. Through observation, reflection, and a willingness to challenge assumptions, they're discovering the rich diversity of narratives that make every place unique.
Our fifth graders are diving into the powerful stories of human rights and social justice. They're grappling with complex questions about the nature of human rights and the challenges they face in today's world. Through thought-provoking discussions and immersive learning experiences, they're developing a deeper understanding of how identities and experiences influence perspectives on society and shape our responses to injustice.
NAUSET MIDDLE SCHOOL
Nauset Regional Middle School students enjoyed celebrating Black History Month!
Students focused on building their vocabulary while developing a better understanding of American History. Also, students focused on their map skills of the United States.
Students celebrated by discovering the Underground Railroad and mapping its routes north. They were introduced to famous historical figures such as Harriet Tubman, a former slave and important “conductor” of the railroad and learned about the star constellations such as the Big Dipper that were used by the slaves to guide them to freedom.
Students learned about the Spirituals & their significant role in US history & music. They sang songs such as, “Wade in the Water, while discovering the hidden meanings in the spirituals.
Students investigated the use of Freedom Quilts & how these quilts were used to communicate a “map” to freedom in hidden codes. Students each made quilt patches to create our own “Freedom Quilt” for our classroom in honor of Black History Month.
It was wonderful celebrating Black History Month with such talented singers & artists here at NRMS! Great job students!

MLPAC Meetings and Goals
The MLPAC is meeting at Snowy Owl on Tuesday March 12 from 5:00-6:30. We will be using this time to plan for our Spring Multicultural Event!
The MLPAC is extremely excited to host an MLPAC Multicultural Event at the Artist Cottages on Saturday May 18. The idea for the event was inspired by the International Cottages at Balboa Park where each cottage represents a different country.
We are looking for more volunteers to help with this incredible day. If you would like to get involved, please join our upcoming meeting or send us an email.
All parents, caregivers, and educators of multilingual students; as well as community members are invited to the Multilingual Parent and Caregiver Advisory Council (MLPAC) meetings. We serve as the voice of our multilingual and multicultural students and families. In our meetings, we will learn from each other and discuss ways to improve the educational experience of multilingual students in our district.
Your voice matters and we want to hear it!
All are welcome to join us at cozy Snowy Owl from 5:00-6:30 PM on the following date:
Tuesday, March 12
