Students should:
- Rest on the nights before these tests.
- Eat a nourishing breakfast on the morning of each test.
- Arrive at your testing location on time, or a few minutes early to avoid additional stress.
- Listen attentively to the teacher’s directions so they will know exactly what to do.
- Read each test question and each response carefully before marking an answer choice.
- Stay calm if there are questions that seem difficult.
- Mark their best answers.
- Refrain from bringing any electronic device that can be used for communicating, timing, or imaging into the testing location.
Parents should:
- Meet with your child’s teachers as often as necessary to discuss his/her progress.
- Check or review your child’s homework, projects, or other school work.
- Talk with your child about school.
- Ask teachers to suggest activities for you and your child to do at home to help prepare for tests and to improve your child’s understanding of schoolwork.
- Provide positive feedback by praising your child for what he/she does well.
Help us help your child perform to the best of his or her ability. ASVAB
ASVAB CEP Program
The ASVAB CEP inspires students, schools, educators and parents across the country to explore the possibilities the world of work has to offer and make an action plan as unique as each student.
The ASVAB Career Exploration Program (CEP) is a comprehensive career planning tool that enables meaningful career exploration and post-secondary planning. The ASVAB CEP harnesses the power of the world’s most validated aptitude test paired with an interest inventory to empower young people to explore the holistic world of work and make an individualized post-secondary plan.
The ASVAB CEP is sponsored by the Department of Defense with a two-part mission: to provide a career exploration service to U.S. youth and qualified leads to military recruiters. The CEP is offered at no cost to participating high schools as a public service. In the last five years, the ASVAB CEP has helped over 3 million students in more than 13,000 schools accurately identify their strengths. Participants have no obligation to the Military or to speak to a recruiter.
The ASVAB CEP inspires students, parents, and educators to take collaborative action to talk about all of the postsecondary options. This effort harnesses the collective power of families and communities to transform how people think about, talk about, and participate in post-secondary planning.

- Students can get familiar with the free-response questions (FRQs) you may see on the exam by reviewing questions from previous years. Previous FRQs can be found in the Exam Preparation section of the About the Exam tab on the course page.

CCR Lessons Purpose
The purpose of the CCR lessons is to introduce you to some of the skills that will be on the South Carolina Career Readiness assessment.
Every high school student in South Carolina is required to take this assessment, starting in their 3rd year.
At South Carolina Whitmore School we have placed practice questions in your courses to give you exposure and to provide tips as you complete this lesson activity.
The questions address skills needed in the workplace. The questions you will see in the lessons are not necessarily related to the specific content in a single course.
In your high school curriculum, you are learning the skills needed to analyze the information presented in these items so that you can answer them.
There are just a few questions in this practice lesson.
Please read each question
Look at any graphs or images
Look at the answer choices carefully before you begin to answer
These steps are essential to analyzing the question to determine how to choose the best answer.
