Arrey Elementary, March 2024

Principal News
Dear Arrey Elementary Parents,
As we approach the much-awaited spring break, I wanted to take a moment to share some exciting news with you. We are thrilled to announce that each child will be receiving a Spring Reading Backpack to accompany them during the upcoming two-week break. These backpacks will be filled with a selection of engaging books that your child can delve into during their time off, fostering a love for reading while also keeping their minds active and sharp.
Furthermore, as we gear up for the final stretch of the school year upon our return, I want to highlight the importance of the upcoming end-of-year assessments in both Reading and Math. These assessments play a crucial role in helping us understand the progress your child has made throughout the academic year. They provide valuable insights that inform our teaching strategies and allow us to better tailor our instruction to meet the individual needs of each student.
Your continued support and involvement in your child's education are invaluable, and we are grateful for the partnership we share in nurturing their academic growth and success.
Wishing you and your family a restful and rejuvenating spring break! We look forward to seeing you back on Monday, April 1st!
Warm regards,
Brandy Williams

AES Art
Hi Families!
Happy March!
We always love donations of egg cartons! When students work with tempera or acrylic paint, egg cartons are used as paint palettes. We throw them out after use, so we go through quite a lot of them.
This month, students are working on painting and printmaking. Our students did great work in January and February. Almost everyone completed a self-portrait for the Square1 Art fundraiser. Look for Square1 Art packets (which will include the complimentary stickers and order information) to go home right after spring break.
Students can look forward to lots of exciting projects this spring. Third, fourth and fifth graders will enjoy a special workshop with Basement Films of Albuquerque in March. Fourth and fifth graders will get to work with a puppeteer in May. All students in grades K-5 will be engaging in a few printmaking projects.
As always, please reach out with questions, concerns, or ideas. We welcome your input about current and future art projects!
Be well,
Thea Storz
