Arrey Elementary, April ~ May 2024
Principal News
As we venture further into the spring season, our school calendar is bustling with exciting events and important milestones. From our Scholarship Dinner fundraiser to the culmination of our NM State Assessments, along with exhilarating field trips and our vibrant Cinco de Mayo celebration, there's no shortage of activity at Arrey Elementary.
Amidst this flurry of events, it's crucial to remember our primary focus: ensuring a successful end to the academic year. With graduations on the horizon and the last day of school approaching on May 31st, it's imperative that we rally together as a community to maintain our dedication to learning and achievement.
As the principal, I encourage both students and parents alike to remain steadfast in their commitment to academic excellence and positive behavior. Let's work together to make these final weeks count, embracing the opportunities for growth and celebration that lie ahead.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership in making Arrey Elementary a beacon of educational success.
Warm regards,
Brandy Williams

Art News
Hi Families!
Happy April!
We always love donations of egg cartons! When students work with tempera or acrylic paint, egg cartons are used as paint palettes. We throw them out after use, so we go through quite a lot of them.
The art room will be busy this month as we work on many exciting projects. Fifth graders are working on making flags that are emblazoned with a personal symbol. Fourth and third graders are learning about color theory and are painting a color wheel. Second graders are doing projects that tie in with the social studies and science curriculum. Kindergarten and first grade will be doing some painting and sculpture.
Square1 Art orders are due May 3rd. All sales benefit the school.
Third, Fourth and fifth graders will get to work with a visiting puppeteer in May. They will be making creations for the Fiesta parade. Fourth and fifth graders will be offered the opportunity to perform in the parade. Permission slips will be sent home and need to be returned by May 1st.
As always, please reach out with questions or concerns or ideas. We welcome your input about current and future art projects!
Be well,
Thea Storz
