Take Your Child to Work Day
On Thursday, April 25, 2024, it is “Take Our Children to Work Day.” The New Jersey Department of Education encourages school districts to participate in “Take Our Children to Work Day” activities by giving students credit for attendance and affording them an opportunity to discuss what they have learned once they return to school. In previous years, the day has been a success due to the cooperative efforts of thousands of parents, schools, businesses, organizations and other concerned individuals who demonstrated their interest in children’s education and participation in the workforce.
If you are planning on having your child participate in this day by taking your child to work with you, then please utilize the Daily Attendance Form in your Genesis Parent Portal to enter this absence and in the comment / reason box, please simply state: TAKE YOUR CHILD TO WORK DAY. With this submission, your child's absence will be excused on April 25th.

NJDOE 1st Annual Autism Acceptance Virtual Art Expo
From Dr. Amanda Philp (Ph.D., BCBA-D), Autism Specialist, Office of Special Education:
"The Office of Special Education (OSE) is beyond excited to share with you the release of the 1st annual Autism Acceptance Virtual Art Expo titled “What’s in a Dream?” This unique exhibition celebrates the creativity and talent of students across New Jersey. You are receiving this email because you submitted one or more pieces of art for the show. The OSE did their best to showcase all submissions; however, please note that if one student submitted multiple pieces only one was chosen at random to be showcased.
I encourage you all to take some time to tour the art exhibit online. It’s an opportunity to immerse yourself in the vibrant world of art created by over 200 students on the spectrum and their allies, across 36 districts, showcasing their unique perspectives and dreams.
You can access the virtual art expo here. It is interactive so be sure to walk around, click on each piece of artwork to view the description and enlarge the item for better viewing. The virtual show is accessible through a computer, tablet, or phone."

America's Field Trip Contest
In 2026, the United States will mark our Semiquincentennial: the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Today’s young people are the leaders, innovators, and thinkers who will shape the next 250 years — and it’s important their voices are heard as we commemorate this historic milestone.
America’s Field Trip is a new contest that invites students across the country in grades 3–12 to be part of America’s 250th anniversary by sharing their perspectives on what America means to them — and earning the opportunity to participate in unforgettable field trip experiences at some of the nation’s most iconic historic and cultural landmarks.
Students may submit artwork, videos, or essays in response to the contest’s prompt: “What does America mean to you?”
Thank You to Our PTA for Helping Us Recognize Our Outstanding Paraprofessionals!
