This Week In Band
Required Pre-UIL Concert on Monday, March 25
All AHS and LFC Bands (with the exception of the AHS Wind Ensemble) has a required performance and clinic on Monday, March 25th. The Pre-UIL event is a concert evaluation and clinic from three outstanding area educators. All students should be in their concert tuxedo or concert dress for the performance; students may need to bring concert dress to school on Monday. Click the button below for the Pre-UIL Program. The concerts are open to the public.
Volunteering Help
We need student volunteer help for the following events listed below. Please click the links to sign-up!
- 3/25: HS Band Pre-UIL (after school)
- 3/27-3/28: MS Band UIL (AHS students only during school)
- 4/3: HS Band UIL (AHS students only during school)
Congrats Jazz Band, JV Blue, & Allen Wind Ensemble
HS UIL: Wednesday, April 3
All bands are required to perform at the Region 25 UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Contest on Wednesday, April 3rd. Students will be excused from classes during their performance block. Individual ensemble directors will establish final instructions for their band, See the chart below for a working draft. The draft is for planning purposes only as the schedule may change.
SLT & Drum Major Workshops Continue Wednesday
If you are interested in trying out for drum major or SLT, we will begin our training/workshops this Wednesday. They will be held (mostly) on Wednesdays from 4:30pm-6pm in the AHS Band Hall. The first 45 minutes will be general leadership/SLT training and the second 45 minutes will be specific training for drum majors. AHS & LFC Wind Ensembles will be required to attend the first 45 minutes of the SLT workshops as part of their Musicianship Class. Seniors will be able to share their experiences with the class.

2024-2025 AHS Concert & Jazz Placements
CLICK HERE to see next year's Concert Band Placements (winds only). CLICK HERE to see next year's Jazz placements. YOU NEED TO BE LOGGED INTO YOUR ALLEN ISD ACCOUNT TO VIEW DOCUMENT. The AHS master schedule is being constructed based on our band classes. There will not be class conflicts with Dual Credit and STEAM classes. Do not assume that next year's band, Dual credit, or STEAM classes are the same class periods as this year. Please let Dr. Obado know if your name is not listed and planning on being in band next year.

2024 Leadership & Required Marching Band Events
The band staff is already preparing for the 2024 marching season. See image below for the required Spring and Summer required events.

- Fri, May 31: SASI Leadership training (time TBA)
- Mon, July 22: Summer Leadership Camp and Setup (time TBA)
