They're just small, wet groundhogs, aren't they?? 😄

It seems like we have turned a corner this week. Yesterday while I was packing up at school I heard a chorus of frogs waking up from their long winter's nap. The birds are chirping and frolicking, the staff have stopped wearing three coats around the school, Punxsutawney Phil didn't see his shadow - the sun even came out this morning to nudge us along into Spring. And Monday marks the halfway point in our school year!

We have a couple fun events coming up this month, details below. We are also starting a exciting projects outside this month! Building a new perimeter fence aroud the pollinator and veggie gardens, constructing a chicken coop and run, planting some new fruit trees... Lots of things to keep all the students active and happy. We always need helpers so if you'd like to join us, just say the word.

Join the Muddy Creek Community while raising money at Common Fields on Thursday, February 8th at our next Dine-out! They will be donating 10% of all proceeds for the WHOLE DAY to Muddy Creek. This includes food, drinks (excluding alcohol sales, sorry), swag and gift cards! Invite some friends and come for lunch, come for dinner, or come for a game and a drink! Bring your lawn chairs, blankies, and truffula trees... we're celebrating Dr. Seuss and our beautiful planet by hosting a movie night in the gym! Dress Code: PAJAMAS. Our Parent Teacher Organization will be selling popcorn, pizza and other refreshments so come hungry and bring the whole family. Please join us on March 1st from 5:30-7:15. We will need 4-5 volunteers for set up and consessions. If you can help, please email jordanbprinz@gmail.com

Did you know that you can donate your pop cans and water bottles to Muddy Creek through BottleDrop's Blue Bag donation program? Since last spring, our families have raised $1033 with BottleDrop! Swing by the school to pick up some pre-labeled blue bags, fill them up, and drop them off at your local BottleDrop (or the school!) and help us with our Annual Giving Campaign!

CORRECTION: In last month's newsletter I said the Auction raised $2407 for the Annual Giving Campaign, but it was actually $3407 - sorry for the typo!

✔️ Report cards are almost done and will be sent home the end of next week. 📧

✔️ We are NOT making up a snow day on Feb.19th! CSD is making theirs up then, but we will make up ours later... Plans will be communicated after the 2/8 Board Meeting.

We wish to thank The Autzen Foundation, Chambers Family Foundation, Benton County Cultural Coalition, and everyone that contributed to last spring's fundraiser for music. Without these foundations and parents like you, we would not have music resounding through the halls.
