What another fun week at EWS as we prepare to move forward to Trimester 3! As a friendly reminder, student report cards have been posted in Aspen and the Trimester 2 Conference Sign Up link has also gone LIVE. We look forward to conference conversations with our families next week!

In other news, congratulations to all of our musicians who performed at the All-Town Concert on Wednesday evening -- We are so proud of all of you! We are also very excited for the Marshfield 5k tomorrow and look forward to sharing the race experience with many of our students and families -- Go Team EWS and have a Happy St. Patrick's Day Weekend!

Elementary Conferences will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 6:00-8:00 PM and Wednesday, March 20, 1:30-3:30 PM. We will be using PTCFAST for online scheduling, which allows parents/guardians to be in charge of their conference schedules.

Parents/guardians can access the conference sign-ups by clicking on a link that will be open to EWS families on Friday, March 15, at 3:00pm using the following steps:

· CLICK HERE to access the sign up link.

· A list of all teachers (by grade or subject) will be displayed.

· Click on the names of your student’s teachers with whom you wish to conference.

· Select a time and enter the required information (student’s and parent’s name and email).

· PTCFAST will send you an email confirmation. The email will give you information if you need to change your appointment and will send you a reminder of appointments.

As always, appointments do book quickly and are on a first come, first served basis. If you are unable to access an appointment with your student’s teacher, please contact that teacher to discuss your student at a different date/time. PickUp Patrol is an app used by our families to notify EWS about attendance, including when your student will be absent, arriving late or leaving early, as well as dismissal plan changes. Thank you for your cooperation in helping us implement our new system!

Every three years our parent/guardian CORI forms need to be updated in order to volunteer at school events or in the classroom. This year marks the beginning of a three year term, so every parent/guardian that would like to volunteer needs to complete a new form this year (even if you have been approved in the past).

Please click here for the form and submit by bringing this to the front office with your license. You do have the option to have the form notarized and sent in with a copy of your license if you cannot come to the school.

A healthy eating pattern includes: A variety of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, fat-free and low-fat dairy products, a variety of protein foods and oils.

Eating a healthy breakfast is associated with improved cognitive function (especially memory), reduced absenteeism, and improved mood.

Adequate hydration may also improve cognitive function in children and adolescents, which is important for learning.

The benefits of healthy eating reduce the risk of high blood pressure, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, cancer, osteoporosis, iron deficiency and dental caries (cavities).

Illnesses: If you are keeping your child home for more than a day or 2 due to illness- please contact Nurse White, especially if the illness is something that is of a contagious nature(Influenza, strep, covid, pink eye, stomach bug, hand foot and mouth, etc.). Please remember that if your child has been out sick they can return to school once they have been without fever, vomiting or diarrhea for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications and when their overall symptoms have improved.

If your child has an illness or injury that results in an absence for 5 or more days- a doctor’s note must be sent in upon returning to class with any restrictions and appropriate dates.
