LISD Expect Excellence Newsletter
April 15th, 2024
Hello Levelland Lobos!
This is such a great time to be a Lobo! Our students are amazing and continue to excel in all areas. Congratulations to the Capitol Elementary Crazy Monkey Jaguars, who are headed to DI Globals, and the Capitol Elementary Robotics Teams, who are headed to the state competition. They could not have done this without their adult leaders. You are changing lives every day!!!!!!
During this busy time of the school year, I encourage you to always point out the good, be kind to one another, and take care of yourself.
Go Lobos!
Expect Excellence
Sincerely, Becky McCutchen

Destination Imagination
Our LISD Destination Imagination Teams just returned from the Lone Star Finals and we are so glad to announce that Capitol's Crazy Monkey Jaguars and Mrs. Pam Alexander are moving on to Globals! Congratulations to them for moving on to compete in Kansas City in May! We are so proud of your hard work. All the DI Coaches are so proud of what their kids learned throughout this DI experience and are so grateful for the hard work put in! This is such an amazing opportunity and we are glad the kids had fun along the way! The DI Coaches send out a huge thank you to all the parents and Levelland ISD for this awesome opportunity. DI Coordinator Alexis Gavina also thanks Mrs. Gregory, Ms. Sanchez, Mrs. Magee, Mrs. Alexander and Mrs. Utley for pouring so much time and work into these amazing kids. LMS eSports
LMS eSports Coach Reba Griggs #expectsexcellence and is thrilled to share that her Rocket League Team 1 advanced to the playoffs! The global eSports team comprised of Blake Moore, Cody Grissom, and Gabriel Johnson will play their sweet 16 game tomorrow! Isn't is crazy that these kids get to play epic competitive computer games against other students from around the world? This concept is up and coming in our technology world and these skills build critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, communication, leadership and digital literacy. We wish you the best of luck, hoping that you make it to the top 4 teams, who advance to the Texas eSports League championship in Arlington on May 4th! Congratulations guys!

Our Honor Band performed Wednesday and received 1st divisions from all 6 judges, earning them a Sweepstakes award. Please congratulate these students and their directors for all their hard work! We are so proud of our Lobo Band! Great job!
YELL Students Push DuckPluck
One of the best things about YELL is that students get opportunities that they wouldn't otherwise. Our YELL Officers spoke today at Marigolds and Lion's Club, telling the organizations about their upcoming DuckPluck. The YELL students started the DuckPluck several years ago to raise money for YELL Scholarships. They are raising money again this year to raise money for next year's scholarships! The DuckPluck is on May 15th and if you buy a $5 duck, you could be the winner of up to $750 cash. We #expectexcellence and are seeing it in these great LHS kids. We are proud of how you are growing into adults!
Technology for Learning
