1. Make sure you are scheduling time for data collection for EOY IMSE Progress Monitoring due on May 24. Upload the results for each student here: IMSE-Progress Monitoring Form. Progress monitoring will help students continue in the curriculum as appropriate when they return in August!
2.Course Performance Reviews should be completed for students with IEPs who are not passing their classes. Here are the due dates for the 4th grading period:
- 3 Week Course Performance Review Forms due 4/12/24
- 6 Week Course Performance Review Forms due 5/3/24
- 9 Week Course Performance Review Forms due 5/24/24

A big Shoutout to Sabrina Segovia one of the Resource/Inclusion teachers at Highland Park Elementary for delivering Esperanza lessons to students from Bowden Academy and Woodland Hills Elementary through Zoom providing special education services to meet the student’s needs.

Early Childhood Special Education
IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
ECSE SC teachers: Gold Assessment is due on May 30. Make sure that you complete the checkpoints and finalize them during the assessment window. You should begin doing the Spring 23/24 checkpoint if you have not done so already. Please review the how to: GOLD.How do I finalize checkpoints You can also reach out to your ECSE specialist if you need assistance.
ECSE SC teachers: Great job on using the Creative Curriculum to plan your lessons. Going forward, please submit the weekly plans. This is found on the left pane on the teach section of the My Teaching Strategies application.
Way to go to the ECSE students and teachers who participated in the ECSE Olympics on March 28. See the pictures and see all the fun our kids had!
Child Outcome Summary Forms (COSFs) are MANDATORY Federal Reports. Entry COSFs are due within 30 days of the student starting services with us. Exit COSFs are due for students at the end of their Kindergarten year. These are due prior to May 1st 2024 so please start on these now for those students that are aging out.

On March 28, 2024, SAISD hosted the ECSE Olympics Young Athletes event. We had over 400 PreK-Kindergarten students participate. We had over 200 high school student volunteers pair up with students to go through each activity. We would like to express a special thank you to all student and staff volunteers as well as our community partners who made this event a great success!
Dyslexia and §504

March Dyslexia Parent Awareness Night was a success! Parents were given demonstrations on IMSE, Basic Language Skills, Lexia and Esperanza. Families left with books and prizes from the raffle.
Regional Day School Program for the Deaf
RDSPD Highlands High School students supported the RDSPD Mission Academy Students for ECSE Olympics.
Supplemental Pay Opportunities for Teachers

Please review the IHT flyer and consider becoming an in-home trainer. Supplemental pay is provided for preparation and instruction. Training is provided, as well.

Supplemental Homebound Teachers Needed!
The Disability Services Department is offering supplemental pay for certified teachers to provide instruction to students receiving Homebound Services.
Hours: After school flexible hours. Teachers can work 5-10 hours a week.
Supplemental Pay:
$30/hr for Certified Teachers
Programs:
504/General Education, ECSE, ALE, BSC, Inclusion/Resource, All grade levels!
