A Note from Mrs. Tapscott
Hillcrest Families,
I have almost been at Hillcrest for an entire school year. What an amazing journey it has been so far. The support our students have from their families does not go unnoticed. The amount of support that you, as the Hillcrest community, have shown our school is beyond amazing. I am thankful that I get to work alongside an outstanding staff, wonderful families, and most importantly, the most precious children every day.
Our students are better because of you. A child's successful education takes a village. The school cannot do it alone, and we are blessed with the best parents/guardians to do it alongside with. I appreciate it, and I know our staff does too!
As we begin fourth quarter this week, I look forward to finishing the school year on a positive note. We have many exciting events coming up such as field trips, field day, assemblies, and an ice cream social for the whole family to attend.
We've still got a lot to learn this school year. The year is far from over.
Let's make the last months of school the best yet!

IAR Starts this Week!
Our third and fourth grade students will begin taking the IAR assessment this week. This assessment is required by the state of Illinois. In total, students will take 5 assessments throughout the next two weeks. To ensure students do their best on this assessment, it is crucial that students do the following:
- Come to school on time
- Get good sleep
- Eat Breakfast
- Come to school with their device fully charged
- Most importantly--give their best and don't give up!
5Essential Survey
Our parent response is at 20%! Can we get more responses?
The 5Essential Survey is designed to generate a detailed picture of the inner workings of your child’s school. As a parent, this opportunity will allow you to share your thoughts on the important elements of school effectiveness in a survey about your child’s school. Your participation in the parent portion of the survey will help us understand the conditions at your child’s school and guide improvement. Your identity and survey responses will be kept completely confidential and will never be connected to you or your child. To take the survey, please go to http://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois/survey/parent/. The survey will be open until March 29th. Thank you for your participation!
