April 2024
From the Office
Spring is here! Our students have entered 4th quarter, which means we have a lot of important and exciting events taking place. The third and fourth graders have officially completed the IAR state assessment. The results are not shared with the schools or families until this Fall. We look forward to getting these results to see how well each student performed, as well as to help guide our instruction moving forward.
The last of our NWEA MAP assessments will take place April 23rd through May 9th. Our students take this assessment three times a year to measure their progress toward their grade level standards. The assessment measures English Language Arts as well as Math skills. It is important that each student gets a good nights sleep, eats breakfast and attends school daily.
Gentle Reminder
Please call the school office if your child will not be in attendance. The office has a voicemail set up if you call in the absence before or after school hours. If you leave a message please state the reason for the absence. If your student's absence has not been reported, it is our responsibility to contact the parent to confirm the absence and acquire the reason for the absence. To report the absence please call the school phone number is 309-796-1251.

Library News
Over the summer, our library will be getting a makeover! This space will be receiving new flooring, vibrant colored paint, and new furniture. In order to complete this project in time for the first day of school in the fall, Mrs. Sevier must have the library completely packed up by the last day of school. Because of this, all library books are due April 22nd. Our students will still receive library services, however, they will not be checking out books after this week. If your child would still like books to read, don't forget about our book box out by the front of the school! These books are free for all to enjoy and read!

Solar Eclipse Fun!
Solar Eclipse Smiles!
Showing off their special designed viewing glasses!
Great appreciation for the opportunity to view the solar eclipse!
The solar eclipse viewing was a success. This wouldn't have been possible without the generous donation of viewing glasses from the Illinois Optometric Association. A special thank you to our school board member Debra Faralli for thinking of us at Wells!
