DISTRICT NEWSLETTER - MAY 2024
A MESSAGE FROM DR. STEPHANIE HOFER
Dear Decatur Township Families,
In May we are approaching the end of another great school year! We look forward to celebrating all student growth and success at a variety of awards programs throughout our schools. We wish a very special “Congratulations” to the Class of 2024! You have accomplished so much throughout your K-12 journey. Graduation marks the end of one chapter, but the beginning of a new and exciting time in your lives as you embark on your next adventure in the workforce, college, trade school, or other post-secondary opportunities. You are equipped with the skills to succeed, and we know you will work hard to achieve your dreams! As you celebrate this special milestone, remember to take time to thank your family, friends, teachers, and mentors who have supported you along the way.
May is also a time to celebrate some amazing staff groups here in Decatur Township! May 1st is National School Principals Day, and May 3rd is School Lunch Hero Day. We celebrate National Teacher Appreciation Week May 6th-10th, and National School Nurse Day on May 8th. Also, our Speech-Language Pathologists are honored on May 18th. We are so very grateful to all of these team members, and are truly Decatur Proud to have such an amazing staff. Christa McAuliffe once said, “I touch the future. I teach.” What a powerful statement about the gift and the privilege of teaching the next generation. Let’s finish the 2023-2024 year strong, with positivity and gratitude. Parents, don’t forget to register your children for the 2024-2025 year. You can complete the registration process at decaturproud.org through Skyward Family Access.
