April 27, 2024 Fundraiser--SAVE THE DATE
The Markley Street/Elm Street bridge WILL CLOSE for a year for reconstruction from Monday, April 15, through April 2025! So far, the impact will create additional traffic traveling down Coolidge and/or Harding Blvd. We will need to be extremely cautious as our students walk to and from school.
FROM THE DESK OF MS. TAYLOR & MR. RODRIGUEZ
“Realize that it’s never too late!”
--Collin McCarty
Hello Families,
Spring has sprung and it seems the rain continues to provide nourishment to our plants, and flowers, just as you and we continue to nourish our children with information and life lessons🏋🏻🌱! This month begins the Fourth and final Marking period, and we are preparing to host the Pennsylvania System of School Assessments (PSSAs)--we ask that once again, encourage our students to give their best effort, get plenty of rest (this should always be a goal), eat a good breakfast, and simply demonstrate their greatness! Reminder, all electronics will be kept in lockers or stored appropriately. This is a school expectation and will be reinforced during the PA State Assessment.
Given the bridge closure news we recevied from the Borough, we are encouraging our families to walk to and/or from school with our students when available. This is a great time to discuss school, friends, grades, or just some one on one time together!
REMINDERS
1) Students are to arrive by 8:15am (must be in homeroom by 8:20am or will be marked late). Doors open at 8:00am. Each grade group should enter at their designated doors.
2) We are a uniform school! Please ensure students are in full uniform. Only students that have earned or used Dojo points can dress down. Dress down passes are given to them by a staff member.
3) Please be sure to ask students how their day was..specifically, what did they accomplish? Did they have questions about classwork? How are they doing with their friends? As parents or teachers, we can't assist anyone if we don't know there is a concern!
4) Students should be bringing Chromebooks/chargers to and from school daily.
Also, remember to visit our website, and social media platforms regularly for current news and upcoming events. Because a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in our students' education! We want you to be involved in school, volunteer when available, and communicate with your child’s teacher as needed with any questions, concerns, or celebrations! Our educators are easily accessible via email, and will communicate with you in a timely manner. Home/School partnership is the reason ESTLA continues to excel.
Please be sure to visit our webpage at https://www.nasd.k12.pa.us/o/estla in order to stay informed or send us a note of community resources we need to share with our families! If you have a question you need answered please call (610) 277-8720 and speak to us.
A request, please motivate our students to arrrive by 8:15am 😊. Our instructional day begins quickly and we want to ensure they are receving all the information required to find success!
