This week...
As we draw to the end of our Spring term, we have so much to celebrate!
Our attendance this term has improved since the Autumn term, and we are grateful for your help with this. Every minute we have our children in school is a precious chance to learn and have fun. Thank you for supporting us with this.
The behaviour of our children is fantastic and every visitor to school comments on how calm, warm and purposeful our learning environment is. This doesn't happen by accident! Our children are such wonderful examples of our Christian virtues and we are very proud of them.
Thank you to all our super staff, who work tirelessly to provide the very best for our children and families. We have a great team. Please remember to give them a 'shout out' below - it really does make a difference for them to hear the positive impact their hard work is having!
Please have a lovely Easter. We look forward to welcoming children back on Tuesday 9th April.
Thank you, as always, for supporting us to
Live, love and learn with the Lord.

Easter Showcase
Our Mini Vinnies performed a FANTASTIC Easter showcase for our school, family and friends this morning.
Through drama, song, liturgical dance and rap, they explained the importance of Jesus dying and being resurrected at Easter. We were blown away!
Not only did they do a super job and showcase lots of talent, but they gave us a very important message. Thank you for giving up your breaktimes and lunchtimes to put this together.
Special thanks to Miss Savelli, who guides our Mini Vinnies so beautifully.
Community Coffee Morning
Next term, we are launching our Community Coffee Mornings!
These will be an opportunity for friends and family to get together informally, and our staff can share some of the things going on in school. We know from our family survey that some people wanted more communication from school. We have listened to this! Hopefully, these events will help families to have a clearer understanding of our ethos and approaches, so we can work together to help our children flourish.
See the attached poster for details of our first coffee morning, hosted by Mrs Tucker!
Our Twitter following is growing (not quite as many as the other Tadcaster schools, but we're getting there!) and a couple of parents mentioned that they have sent the link to grandparents, distance relatives, friends etc! What a lovely idea to be able to show off how wonderful our school is and all the fabulous things we have going on. We have lots of super photos/videos on the account!
If you have not yet responded to 'consent for external use of photos' (or want to change your response), please let our office know.
Yoga Club
After the Easter holidays, we are delighted to be offering a brand new Yoga Club on a Monday, after school. You should have received information about this. We still have a couple of spaces available, so please contact the office if you would like to book a place.
Places are first come, first serve.
Weekly Mass
Just a reminder that we take a class to Mass at St Joseph's Church each Wednesday at 10am. Friends and family are always welcome.
Attendance Update
We were delighted to hand out attendance certificates in assembly this morning, to celebrate the children with 100% attendance this term!
Whole School Attendance this week: 92.6%
This week, we have been below National Average!
We have been learning...
St Nicholas (Nursery)
St Francis (Preschool/Reception)
This week in St Francis we have explored the stories of Holy Week. We have learnt about Palm Sunday, The Last Supper, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. We have thought about how it is both a happy and sad occasion.
St Bernadette (Y1/Y2)
We have been thinking about community in PSHE and we thought this week about how we can help in our different communities. We did a big litter pick to help out our school community!
St Patrick (Y3/Y4)
This week in St Patrick’s class we reflected on what happened at the Last Supper and on Good Friday. Then we created beautiful Easter cards which show Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross and the glory of His resurrection. We wish you all a joyful and peaceful Easter. Happy Easter from St Patrick’s class!

Equally, if you have any items that your child has outgrown please do donate these so we can pass them on!
We will be planning further uniform sales too to link in with new starter events, so look out for dates for this!
