Las Positas Updates

Happy April!!!

🌺💐🌷🌻🍀🌼 Spring is all about new beginnings and transformations; it's a season that symbolizes starting fresh and starting over. It reawakens us and our surrounding environment, bringing everything back to life.

April is also the month of standardized assessments. In a few weeks, our upper grade students will take a state test to show their achievement. Please, encourage our students to do their best. We are also planning exciting events to encourage and rally for them. I will be sharing more information in the weeks to come.

This month, we celebrate being courageous and being risk-takers. As IB students, we approach uncertainty with forethought and determination; we work independently and cooperatively to explore new ideas and innovative strategies. We are resourceful and resilient in the

face of challenges and change.

If you see your students in action as a risk-taker, post it on X, instagram, or facebook and tag us #LasPositasLions. Let us know with a proof of picture and we will give your child a pride ticket.

Coming to school everyday is so important. We love recognizing our students who are here every day and on time. Maybe your child's class will be recognized next week?!

Just a friendly reminder to keep everything school appropriate and according to the district parent handbook. Some of the key things are:

• Bring your school supplies and come ready on time
• Don't bring toys or anything unnecessary at school
• Only School hats/beanies
• Wear tennis shoes, not crocs or anything that may get them hurt during PE/recess

Thursdays - Think College Gear

Fridays - wear Las Positas Gear/colors (blue & orange)

• 4/9 - IB Show Case 5-7pm
• 4/9 - Parent Academy 6-8pm at the District Office
• 4/10 - Parent Academy 9-11am at the District Office
• 4/16 - Parent Academy 6-8pm at the District Office FINAL MEETING
• 4/17 - Parent Academy 9-11am at the District Office FINAL MEETING
• 4/15 - PTA Meeting @ 5PM
• 4/18 - DELAC 9-10am at the District Office

This year, all students will receive free meals.
