Tennis
The Florence Tennis Team traveled to Gatesville on Tuesday, March 26th and competed in a huge, 13 school, one day tournament. Seniors Mary Bell and Josephine Arciniaga dominated the court and won 2nd in girls doubles. Sophomore Shelby Hutchinson won her second medal of the season and placed 1st in the consolation bracket of girls singles. Sophomore Colton Fisher and Junior AJ Trevino made it all the way to consolation finals before falling to San Saba.
Softball
Wow, what a performance by our teams against Ingram on Thursday, March 28th! The junior varsity showed incredible determination and heart in their matchup, while the varsity team battled fiercely until the very end to emerge victorious. Keep up the good work ladies! Come out April 5th at 5 to help cheer on your Lady Buffs against Comfort. With their 4-2 record, they are currently sitting at 2nd in a competitive district!
Boys Track
Varsity
Erick Ramirez won the 1600m and 3200m.
Isaias Mendoza finished 2nd in the 400m and 800m. He had a PR in the 400m (52.86)
Braxton Gould won the triple jump with a PR jump of 40'8" and finished 3rd in high jump and a PR of 5'6".
JV
Mason Estrada won 1st in shot put.
Adam Heffington finished 2nd in the shot put.
Alexander Garcia won the 3200m and finished 2nd in the 1600m.
Axel Martinez finished 2nd in the 3200m and 3rd in the 1600m.
Enrique Mendoza won 1st in the 1600m.
Devon Kendall finished 2nd in the 100m.
Girls Track
On a day full of delays and mediocre weather, we had outstanding performances regardless of what mother nature had in store! Cheyenne Pierce continues to get faster in the 3200m with a new PR of 15:00! Mary Bell got a new PR in the 300m hurdles with a time of 48.6! All of our girls competed well against some stiff competition, rolling into this next week with the District Championships coming up on April 2-3.

The Hill Country Invitational took place on March 27th and was a great contest for our competitors!
