Appleton Echo
Summer Term 1, Week 2
A word from Mr Broom
Talking of family, I'm delighted to inform you that we welcomed the birth of Mr & Mrs Snowden's daughter, Maive, on Tuesday. All are doing very well and we're looking forward to seeing Maive when the time is right for the first visit to Appleton.
Finally, our numbers came in for our Reception year group for September. We look forward to welcoming 13 wonderful pupils; slightly less than what initial indicators predicted. I'm meeting Miss Brough and Mrs Watts early next week to begin the planning phase for our Infant phase.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.
Book Fair a Huge Success
A huge thank you to everyone involved in the School Book Fair this week. We managed to raise over £600.00 through the Book Fair and over £90.00 at the PTA bake sale, that we can invest in high quality resources for our pupils. Well done everyone!

Car Convos!
Talk is really important for all learners in school and we know that our children are exposed to lots of exciting learning opportunities, both at home and at school. To help develop speaking and listening skills and knowledge of the wider world, we're introducing Car Convos! A topic that we share in the newsletter on a Friday, that families can discuss in the car on their travels. We'll then pick this up after the weekend.
This week in school, our year groups move into their Geography themed learning journeys, having spent the previous term with a History focus. Our car conversation this week asks 'why is knowing about the past so important for the future'.
This week's Car Convo:
Why is knowing about the past so important for the future?

We are a 'Nut Free' School
A polite reminder that we have children in school who have severe nut allergies. Please ensure that you do not bring nuts on to the school site or include them in packed lunches.
