STAAR Testing Dates:

April 22nd: 8th Grade Science

April 25th: All Grades Math

On STAAR Testing days, our schedule changes and lunch times may be different.

**We ask that you refrain from making any deliveries on these days.**

**Visitors will not be allowed on campus on STAAR testing days.**

The time has come to renew the 2024-2025 mLISD security deposit. This is the opportunity for your child to secure a laptop to keep for the summer and all of the upcoming school year.

Current 6th and 7th graders can keep their current laptop IF payment is made by May 16th. Otherwise, they will turn in their laptop and charger on the following day(s):

7th Grade - Friday, May 17th

6th Grade - Monday. May 20th

Current 8th graders will exchange their current laptop for a brand new one on May 14th IF payment is made by May 10th. They will be able to keep it for the summer and all of next year. If payment is not made, they will turn in their laptop and charger on the following day:

8th Grade - Tuesday, May 14th

Important note: If either the laptop and/or the (official Lenovo) charger is not turned in, a fine will be issued to the student.

Lenovo Windows laptop - $508

Lenovo Chromebook laptop - $312

Laptop charger - $40

HMS is collecting gently used books for our Summer Reading For All (SR4A) program in which students are gifted a book to read over the summer. If you have any books that your children have already read, we would greatly appreciate the books being donated to HMS so that they can bring joy to another person's reading life! The box will be located in the entry of HMS. Your book donations will be greatly appreciated!

We're in the final month of Yearbook sales! Have you ordered your copy of the 2023-2024 HMS Yearbook yet? Order online at Jostens.com to ensure that you receive your copy in May!

Please be sure to bring proper identification in order to check your child out from school prior to the end of the school day. Once we have verified your identity, we will send a pass for the student to meet you at the front office.

Please note:

• This process could take approximately up to 15 minutes, depending on the time of day. Please be sure to allow extra time for delays should they occur.
• We cannot have your child waiting for you in the office prior to your arrival.
• Please try to arrive prior to 4:05 PM if you are checking out at the end of the day. Due to time constraints we may not be able to get your student checked out prior to the 4:20 PM bell.
