MAY BRINGS US TO THE SUCCESSFUL
KNOWLEDGE BOWL
Students from the Big Horn Basin compete at the Knowledge Bowl. Students are asked questions that range over the entire spectrum of a middle school curriculum and also include a certain amount of current events, sports, and popular culture. The matches feature a blend of individual competition and team collaboration, since no individual player is likely to be an expert in all subject areas.

8th GRADE HONORS NIGHT DRESS CODE
The honors night celebration is not a requirement. Attendance is a privilege. Students who do not comply with school rules, including the day of the honors ceremony, will be taken out of the ceremony at the discretion of the administrator.
Although formal attire is not a requirement, all graduates are expected to look respectable and appropriate.
- For ladies, attire that is not acceptable includes strapless dresses, backless dresses, dresses with slits on the side above the knee, and dresses that expose any cleavage or stomach area. Dresses with spaghetti straps are allowed. Ladies may also choose to wear nice slacks and a dress shirt. Due to the stage lighting, appropriate undergarments must be worn.
- Appropriate attire for gentlemen includes a dress shirt (a shirt with a collar) and nice pants. Ties are not required. T-Shirts and blue jeans are not acceptable. We strongly discourage boys from purchasing or renting tuxedos.
- Those students who do not come dressed appropriately will be asked to change into clothing that is more suitable for the occasion.
- Questions about the dress code can be sent to Mrs. Richardson. If there is a question about the appropriateness of a dress, students are encouraged to bring a picture of the dress so that we can ensure it meets the dress code.
We will be looking for parental help in regard to forming committees to help with food and cleanup. The eighth graders are always hungry after the ceremony, so we like to be able to feed them well during the dance. We will also be looking for parents willing to come and help clean up after the dance is finished. Many hands make light work and it will take approximately half an hour. We will not be requiring parental chaperones for the dance.
