Next Sunday is the 5th Annual FREEDOM FAMILY FEST at the Hampstead Kiwanis Park from 1-4pm and we are looking forward to a great day of celebrating all our military kids! We can't wait to see you all! The event starts at 1pm but at 1:15, the Topsail High NJROTC Color Guard will do the Presentation of Colors, and ALL OUR MILITARY KIDS...YOUNG AND OLD ALIKE....are invited on the stage to sing the National Anthem...even adult military kids! If you have your OMKC shirt, or a purple shirt, you gotta wear it...in honor of all our military kids who serve!

Each year all school are required to complete a lockdown drill. Our lockdown drill will be happening sometime this coming week. Teachers and staff will be reviewing procedures and expectations with students. They will work to help students understand the purpose at an age appropriate level to make all students feel comfortable. This would be a great time to have conversations at home with your students about these kinds of drills and how they help keep us safe.

This month we will have a collection box in our lobby to support Carolina Cares. Carolina Cares collects home and personal care donations to support two of the local women and children's centers in our area. If you have any donations you or your student may drop them off in the collection box in the lobby.

We are doing raffles a little differently this year. All items will be displayed in the library and teachers will have the opportunity to drop their tickets. All winners will be announced at a Friday afternoon assembly. Do you or a business you know have an item or service you could donate? Please message us if so!

Make plans to join us for our next spirit event at Bates in Hampstead on May 1! Let them know you are from Topsail Annandale Elementary School any portion of your sale will be donated to our school.
