Happy Friday Charger Families!
Happy Easter weekend Charger Families! I hope you have settled into the return of school this week after Spring Break. In typical Oklahoma fashion we go from sleet, snow, and a cold rain on Wednesday to high 70s on Friday, and it looks like we'll experience mild temps this weekend for those that might hunt eggs or just want to spend some time outside.
Congratulations to Katy Boyle who was selected today as the Chisholm Teacher of the Month. This award is selected monthly and taken from nominations by other staff members at Chisholm. Thank you again to the Vandruff Farmers Insurance Agency for helping us in celebrating our teachers each month.
We celebrated the March and April birthday students yesterday during school with a birthday book and a treat, and that leaves us only May to celebrate.
We’re excited to host the upcoming Scholastic Book Fair scheduled for April 1 - April 4th during school hours. This event is an opportunity for students of all ages to build their home libraries and further their love of reading. As always, all purchases benefit our school. Our spring Book Fair will be a familiar, welcome, and safe event for our students.
Here’s what you need to know about the Fair, which will take place from:
Our Book Fair offers a cash-free payment option called eWallet. It’s a convenient digital account that your child can use for shopping at our Fair. Grandparents, friends, and others can contribute, too! eWallet Link
Students can browse and buy books during their class assigned time (your child’s teacher will communicate what day that will be) and parents will have the opportunity to visit after school on Wednesday, April 3rd from 3:30 until 4:30 pm. Call the office 405-340-2950 before 3:00 if you are planning to come to the after school time, so we can let your child's teacher know that they will have a different route home that day.
Payment via cash, check (made out to Chisholm PTO), credit card, or Scholastic eWallet will be accepted. Please make sure your child’s name is on the payment.
If your child cannot make it to the Fair, then shop online at our school’s Virtual Book Fair. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Your online orders will also benefit our school.
Visit our Book Fair homepage by typing in the following link, or by taking a photo of the QR code, to learn more and get started with eWallet and online shopping.
I wanted to remind you that 3rd quarter grades will be available for viewing this evening around 5:00pm. You can access them from the parent portal.
The April lunch menu has been added below to this newsletter.
The April Smart Social Tip of the Month is full of information on a social media app we hear a lot about in the news, TikTok. What is it exactly? Why do students want to spend time on the app? What should you know about it as parents or guardians? And what are some of the biggest concerns related to TikTok? That information is available by clicking this link: https://smartsocial.com/post/tiktok-app?org=edmond

Edmond Early Birds Parent Program -Sunbeam Family Services is providing a parent program designed to help parents with children from birth to 5 years of age. They have dates upcoming in April along with information of what will be presented on a flyer below for those that might be interested in attending one of these classes.
Please help us during morning arrival and afternoon dismissal by not turning right on red as you enter the parking lot from the west. This will provide those turning left from the east an opportunity to enter into the parking lot as cars move along.
Dismissal Reminder for Spring Hill/ Old Farm/ Thornbrook walkers should only be used by students that live in those areas. If your student doesn't live in those neighborhoods they need to either use bus or car rider to get home at the end of the day. We don't want to send students into a neighborhood that don't live in that neighborhood.
Calling all Substitutes - If you are interested in becoming a substitute, as a classroom teacher or classroom assistant, or even if you want to inquire more about the possibility of becoming a substitute in the future, please click on this link or you can call the school. The district has recently approved some additional incentives ( Subs now get paid twice a month and if you work 6 out of 10 days in a pay period, they can now earn an addition $100 in the pay period).
