Congratulations!
Congratulations to Avery Fleming for winning the Color the Concepts contest for her illustration of budgeting. She was selected as 1 of 16 artists out of over 350 entries and will be recognized at the 35th Annual Economics and Financial Literacy Awards Luncheon in Columbia, SC. Way to go Avery! You give us Warrior Pride!
Solo and Ensemble Participants
Our Warrior talent will continue to shine on Saturday when several of our chorus students will perform at the SCMEA Solo and Ensemble Festival in West Ashley from 12:00 - 3:00 pm. Students who volunteered to be a part of this festival had the chance to showcase their talents this past Friday at a Pre-Concert in the WMS auditorium. West Ashley is in for some amazing performances!
Annie
WMS's Drama production of Annie is amazing! The talent of these young people is second to none! Thank you to our wonderful advisors Mrs. Ownbey and Mrs. Klaich for giving them this opportunity to shine! Tonight at 7:00pm is the final performance at the WHS auditorium and you don't want to miss it! Tickets are $5 at the door.
Testing Dates
Testing season is right around the corner. Please make note of the following days and help us prepare your child for success by making sure they get plently of rest the night before, eat a nutritious breakfast the morning of, get to school on time, and have a charged device ready to go for the day!
May 7th - SC Ready State Assessment (Writing)
May 8th - SC Ready State Assessment (Reading)
May 9th - SC Ready State Assessment (Math)
May 15th - iReady Diagnostic (Reading)
May 16th - iReady Diagnostic (Math)
May 22 - Alg 1 EOC
High Impact Tutoring
The High Impact Tutoring Program will continue through May 2, with both before and after school tutoring. There are morning sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday before school and after-school sessions on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. During the last week 7th-grade level math will be held on Thursday morning, May 2, instead of Wednesday. The morning sessions are held from 7:30 am-8:30 am and afternoon sessions are held directly after school from 3:30 pm-5:00 pm.
Each day will be aimed at specific subject areas. Monday afternoon- ELA; Tuesday morning- Social Studies; Wednesday morning- Algebra 1 and 7th-grade math; Wednesday afternoon - 8th-grade math; Thursday morning- Pre-algebra, and Thursday afternoon- Science. This program is free of charge and transportation will be provided for afternoon students only. This is a great opportunity for every student.
