50/50 PD with our Instructional Assistants is always fun! We got to talk about quality classroom support for Science and Social Studies. IA’s did a phenomenal job coming up with research-based strategies and activities to support our students and help them become successful in these subjects.

Alternative Learning Environment
Shout out to Mr. Brandon Jackson and the Sam Houston Hurricanes ALE Students. Here they are working their Sambucks coffee cart business wearing aprons created at their print shop all ran by our ALE students.

Early Childhood Special Education
All your Rising Student projections and Google Folders should be submitted using the Google Form: ECSE Google Folder Link Submittal (you will need to complete one form per student)
Rising Student ARDs should be scheduled even if you do not have a 24-25 campus yet. We will begin to send out the receiving campuses soon. Once you know the campus ensure to invite the receiving campus to the ARD meeting.

Special Olympics Track & Field and Fundamentals
SAISD hosted a two-day unified Special Olympics Track & Field event. We are proud to announce that this is the first Special Olympics Fundamentals local event held in our region!
Dyslexia and 504
Regional Day School Program for the Deaf
Highlands HS RDSPD students attended the ESC Region 20 Transition Fair for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students where they were able to find out about available resources, make connections with peers from other areas, and learn about ways to advocate for themselves.

Supplemental Homebound Teachers Needed!
The Disability Services Department is offering supplemental pay for certified teachers to provide instruction to students receiving Homebound Services.
Hours: After school flexible hours. Teachers can work 5-10 hours a week.
Supplemental Pay:
$30/hr for Certified Teachers
Programs:
504/General Education, ECSE, ALE, BSC, Inclusion/Resource, All grade levels!
