A Message from the Principal
Dear Sward Families,
Our Student Council has begun our school wide Soup-er Bowl canned food donation drive. The last day to donate is Friday, February 9th. All students who bring in a canned food item to donate will receive an Eagle Feather as well as have a chance to vote on which team they think will win the Superbowl. If the team they selected actually wins the Superbowl, they will receive a fun pencil in addition to their Eagle Feather.
All food items will be donated to local food pantries. Thank you for helping us help others!

Bragging Corner
I just wanted to take a minute to brag about how wonderful these Oak Lawn Community Members are! Georgia Conwell and Robert Vallera dedicate their free time to cleaning up the parks in the their neighborhood. They take garbage bags with them from home to different parks and help pick up garbage and litter. Thank you Georgia and Robert for being excellent Oak Lawn Citizens...District 123 is very proud of you!
Van Gogh Fun Pacs
The Van Gogh Fun Pacs were sent home last week. There are 2 options for families to choose from.
Option 1: Keep Fun Pac - Please turn in $10 (cash or check) to your teacher. Make checks payable to: Sward School
Option 2: Return Fun Pac - Please return to your teacher ASAP.
100% of the proceeds raised goes directly to Sward School.

5 Essentials Survey
5Essentials School Survey Now Open!
Once again Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123 will participate in the statewide survey of school climate and learning conditions conducted by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE). Please take a moment to ensure your voice is part of the process by participating in the survey. The 5Essentials survey helps school administrators in District 123 prioritize and plan for the upcoming school year. Our school will only receive the results of the survey if enough families, staff, and students participate.

Sward Family Night w/The Chicago Wolves
Join Sward families and friends for a night of fun at a Chicago Wolves hockey game on February 17th. All attendees will receive a FREE Chicago Wolves knit hat and be seated together in the same section.
