The BIS Bulletin

Thank you to our district librarian, Mrs. Schmidt, for making this week so much fun for our students! We've enjoyed reading each day with fun themes and even had several students head home with free books that were raffled off, all thanks to her! The fun will continue next week when we draw winners for the various prizes and the highly anticipated opportunity for students to pie a few teachers in the face!

It was brought to our attention that a few students were mistakenly omitted from the article in the News Tribune recognizing our Blair Oaks Intermediate Honor Roll students. We apologize for the oversight and have included the full list of A and B Honor Roll students below.

We followed the rainbow and found a pot of gold in our teachers and staff here at Blair Oaks! We sure are LUCKY to have such amazing people educating our children! We'd like to show our staff how much we appreciate all of their hard work and dedication by stocking the teacher's lounge with supplies and treats. We are looking for volunteers to help with this. Please review the available slots below to see if there is something on the list you would be willing to donate. We ask that all donated items be brought to the Elementary and Intermediate offices by Monday, March 11th.

Home and School has received many responses asking if a monetary donation could be made for bigger items for the teacher workroom. In order to help alleviate the cost, we have provided space to send in small monetary amounts to be pooled together for the bigger items. Feel free to sign up to donate a small monetary donation. Please send the money to the office in an envelope marked "restock the workroom".

We are continuing to raise money for the American Heart Association! Envelopes are due back March 22, 2024. Please have your child print an online donation report and place it in the donation envelope along with any other donations, or be sure to raise money online with three quick steps:

1. Download the AHA Schools app or visit heart.org/Schools to register.

2. Help your student complete Finn’s Mission.

3. Raise funds online, check/cash, or both to help kids with special hearts - like Finn.

Any student who is able to raise $50 or more in donations will get the opportunity to play dodgeball vs. the staff and sign their name on the new banner we will earn this year. Good Luck!

All parents (grades K-5) are welcome to join Home & School! This is our version of a PTA and provides an opportunity for parents to become involved with the school by taking leadership in planning yearly teacher appreciation incentives, extra-curricular events, and support for students and teachers. Meetings are held monthly and anyone can join at any time!
