Good Evening Yowell Families,

These next five days stand between us and Spring Break. Spring Break is March 30th-April 7th. Kindergarten registration opens for all our future Yowellies when we return from break!

Congratulations to our Math 24 participants for representing Yowell so well. 4th Graders Anish and Parker placed 1st and 2nd for their grade level. Not only are our students talented with acadmics but also in their resource classes. Nathan Portillo placed 3rd in the Virginia School Board Association Art Show. His artwork will hang on the walls of the VSBA this year! What an honor Nathan! Special shout out to Mrs. Korona, who always makes beautiful works of art with our students.

Culpeper County Public Schools proudly hosted its annual county-wide Math 24 competition, coinciding with the mathematical celebration of Pi Day on Thursday, March 14, 2024. This eagerly anticipated event not only showcases the skills of young mathematicians but also underscores the significance of numerical fluency and problem-solving skills in our education system. Two Yowell students placed in the top 3 for 4th grade. First place was awarded to Anish Mishra (right) and second place to Parker Pratt (left). Congratulations to all of the students from Yowell and CCPS who participated!

Local school board members were treated to an impressive display of creativity and faced some tough decisions in selecting the 2024 winners in the Virginia School Boards Association’s Central Regional Art Contest on March 12, 2024. Student art from the elementary, middle, and high school levels represented each school division in the competition, was judged at the regional forum for area school board members. Yowell Elementary student Nathan Portillo won 3rd place in the Elementary School Contest.

In an effort to assist schools and parents with current information about bus changes, transportation has added a new item on their website called: Transportation - Morning Update. The direct link can be found here.

We will be posting departure times for buses each day to assist parents with receiving their child from the bus stop. Please check this document each afternoon.

We are happy to have a School Resource Officer (SRO) this year at Yowell. You can contact Deputy Mack with any concerns you have with school safety or anything that would be related to criminal activity.
