Early Release on Monday, April 8
Schedule change due to solar eclipse
Dear GLOBE community,
GLOBE will be having an early release day on Monday, April 8, because of the solar eclipse.
Students will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m. at Lower Campus, and 11:45 a.m. at Upper Campus. Caretakers should pick up their students by 12 p.m. at LC and 12:15 p.m. at UC.
DeKalb County School District recently announced an unplanned Independent Learning Day due to the eclipse; as a charter school, however, we have some autonomy. We believe an early release day will allow students to benefit from structured learning in the classroom, while also mitigating the risks associated with conducting carpool during the eclipse.
We understand schedule changes like this one can be challenging for families. If you will need aftercare, please visit the ECP webpage to register.
I hope you and your students enjoy this astronomical event — only with specialized eye protection. And as always, please feel welcome to reach out with any questions or concerns.
In community,
Christi Elliott-Earby
Executive Director
