Boyden Weekly Update
April 5, 2024
Dear Boyden Families,
We are into April! This week we completed the ELA porton of the MCAS Assessment. All students in grades 3-5 worked hard and put forth their best effort. We are very proud of them!
Today, our students in grade 5 gathered in the cafeteria to create their clay tile. Each year our students in grade 5 create a clay tile that represent themselves. It could be a number, a favorite activity, a flag, or variety of different things. These tiles are then painted and hung on the walls of Boyden as a reminder of each of the classes that come through Boyden. Thank you to Mrs. Marinelli and all the parent volunteers that make this happen!
Have a nice weekend!
Brendan
Solar Eclipse
In response to the April 8 solar eclipse, which will occur during school dismissal, we have secured eclipse sunglasses for students. The glasses are AAS-approved and ISO Certified for viewing. To view the eclipse you must look through safe solar viewing glasses (“eclipse glasses”) or a safe handheld solar viewer at all times. The glasses will be handed out to students before dismissal so students can safely view the eclipse.
We have addressed safety concerns for watching the eclipse. This safety information regarding the eclipse can be found on the DESE website. For additional information on the solar eclipse, visit the NASA webpage at: https://science.nasa.gov/eclipses/. We appreciate your partnership in reminding your student(s) to not look directly at the sun without proper eye protection.
Thank you for your cooperation and support in making sure our students have a safe and enjoyable learning experience during the upcoming solar eclipse.
Running Club is Back!

Our hope is to be able to accommodate all students that want to participate, however the session is limited to the first 75 students that register. Success of the program relies on parent volunteers! Please sign up to help if you’re available!
Introduction to Mindfulness for Grades 3-5

Sign your child up for an after school program run by Mrs. Audet (one of our School Counselors) and Mrs. Martin (one of our Special Educators) to introduce some mindfulness techniques such as breathing exercises, mediation and more.
It will be one day a week on Wednesday afternoons from 3:25-3:45 PM for 5 weeks. The dates are:
